OK, it's time to go back to normal. I usually get up around 5AM, make a pot of coffee, fill my thermos, and drink the rest by the time it's light enough to start morning chores. Well Gosh Darnit, lately light comes later and I'm drinking too much coffee while waiting. Then, I use some from the thermos and end up running out if I'm driving all day. This is just SOOO upsetting.

Daylight saving time stinks. It starts too early. It ends too late. Wish they'd do away with it all together.

Yep, it is a too short blanket anyway, cutting off the bottom and sewing it onto the top doesn’t help. OTOH it can be a time management issue? Good luck guys!

Texas was on track to do away with the DST nonsense......but.....the movement has stalled. Reportedly because the bill would have required Congress to amend a federal law that presently only allows states to shift to standard time permanently. It died in the Texas Senate.

I hate it.

Really want to have fun?

Instead of falling back or springing forward an hour - make it 24 hours.

DST is fine with me but it does confuse my dog. :)

We go back to Standard Time Nov 3. It's all relative and you can get up whenever you want. I suggest instead of changing an hour twice a year that we change a couple of minutes every week. That will keep everybody happy all the time.

Point them at AZ. That is one of the (few?) advantages in living in the oven.
It took a little time to reset all of my clocks to the same time, but I have not
needed to change anything since (except the clock in the car, which runs a
little bit slow and I update it twice a month).

The only disadvantage that I see is if you are watching TV (YES, we know
several chest thumpers don't watch TV) and they advertise a given program
at some time/time, and neither is correct for you. - - - - What the heck! I'll be
happy to live with that and not have my internal clock need to change twice
a year for an arbitrary fallacy.

:D

The trauma of daylight savings time.
The trials and tribulations of living in America.
I wonder how many fatalities we will have this year.......

Trading morning for evening, shouldn't be so hard, but we're sure not gonna convince most folks to go to work an hour earlier.

So...However we spin it, I absolutely appreciate the extra hour of daylight at the end of the day.

Make it year 'round.

Hi,

I like DST, and was especially happy that year or so during the "Arab oil embargo" days when we went on it all year. I've never heard a good reason for AZ not to use it though I have heard some which will probably hurt some tender Zonie feelings. As for the rest of the millions of whiners, is that really the best thing you can come up with all day to worry about, regardless of what the clock says? Sheesh...

A proposal similar to the TX one was on our ballot this last go around. Seemed like a really stupid idea, reminiscent of the days before the railroads when every place was on "local" time and noon was "solar"--at the sun's highest point at the given location. Consequently it varied a bit every few miles. Something had to be done to keep all the trains from running into each other. Hence time zones... do we really need to mess up what works, just cuz we can't alter our coffee consumption? Or sleep in an hour?

Mother nature does not care about our clocks! Pay no attention the Sun
rises and sets leave it be. Man's attempt to mess with time. No big deal to me.
Learn to roll with the punches, and maybe an extra thermos! :D ps

I never understood daylight savings time.
My whole life I have always started my day when the sun came up.

During the dislocations caused by the Arab Oil Embargo in 1973-74, there were attempts to do away with the clock resetting. It led to problems such as kiddies waiting for their schoolbus-in the dark.

Compromise, change the clocks by 30 minutes and leave them alone after that.
