The wife's family came up today and we all went to the local lake and the dock to do some fishing. There were some nice fish caught, we ended up with a stringer of fish, bug sunfish, and a couple of small mouth bass, but my wife nailed the biggest fish of the day, a monster large mouth on a 3 foot dock rod and a nightcrawler.
The largemouth was 22 inches long, but he ended up weighing in at 6 pounds even which is what the scale at the local bait shop put it as. So we ended up taking it home and I got some of the nicest fillets off of it that you can imagine. The wife caught the biggest fish she's landed in years, although there's a nice bass here on the wall she caught back about 12 years ago. She's been fishing since she was a kid and certainly knows her stuff. This fish though will definitely have a lot of memories behind it.

Nice fishy!
We just got done with a day and a 1/2 in the Thousand Island region fishing.Saturday we got blown off, but this am was outstanding. We fish mainly for Northerns and perch. In less than 3 hours we boated 7 keepers (boat limit is over 25", our best was 32". I was going to post a pic, but cant figure out how...

To clarify, that was a 32" northern pike....not bass....whoopee, that would have been a doozy of a bass!

What lake were you fishing. I used to fish Black Lake and loved fishing Clayton and Alexandria Bay.

That’s a bigun. I haven’t caught one that size for a while.
Since she caught it, did you clean it? :)
