Finally getting to the range tomorrow with a buddy for some ballistic therapy.  Heading up to Easton to walk around SARCO and to do some shooting at a range up there.  Got a bag full of handguns and a can full of ammo.  A pretty optimistic load-out,  but I'm due...

Hi-Power - just want to work it in some more and to test some mags I got at a good price
Security Six - First time out with the new wheel-gun
Ruger American  (9mm) - Just because I like shooting it and want to fine-tune the POA/POI on the Crimson Trace.
Ruger American  (.45acp) - Hoping a little more trigger time will get me to like this pistol...but it took me a while to like my P90, too.
Kahr MK9 - to exercise the EDC and to shoot out the 20+ year-old Hydra Shoks. Hoping to test some new carry ammo.  Hoping it likes Hornady Critical Defense or Remington HTPs...both get good reviews

Hoping to have a range report over the weekend.

Sounds like a good plan. I hope you are able to accomplish what you want.

It's good to be able to get out & go shooting. Ballistic therapy is always good.

I fully understand how so many folks have to work or struggle to get to a range & do some shooting. It used to be a lot easier,, with more open places,, woods & all where folks could go shooting. Sadly,, with the population expanding,, space & places disappearing, makes it harder.
I own a gun range,, and yet,, I can't leave it "open" due to LIABILITY,, and slobs or thieves. I truly wish I could. I can't afford to quit work & then open it with me there to be a RO either. Maybe one day,, but not yet. So, I count myself lucky in that I had the foresight to start building the range in 1980,, for my future. Now,, I can shoot anytime I want,, and not have any worries. But it angers me when I have to turn people down who ask to use my range. I tell them; "It's not so much you I worry about,, it's your relatives if you get killed or injured. Non-gun folks love to SUE people thinking; gun range - money,, plus we can shut it down!"

So go, burn powder,,, punch paper,,,, clang steel,,, bust produce or other good targets,, and ENJOY the day!

A High Power and a Security Six would make a wonderful day of retro enjoyment. Nothing finer in their fields.

And now, the update...

Hi-Power worked great, but the cheap mags I'd bought were crap...

Security Six worked great with everything from my wadcutters all the way up to my full-bore 150grn JHP magnum loads.

American 9mm did really well, but I still couldn't get the laser sighted in right.  It was just a slight bit left.  I made an adjustment and then didn't know where it was hitting.  Still needs some work.

Didn't get to shoot the American .45acp

My Kahr MK9 loves the Critical Defense rounds, so they're my new carry ammo.

Overall, a great day spent with a buddy.

Sounds like a great day! Shooting is definitely therapy, even if it's just airguns.
