As I sit here browsing the forum, Tripod, my female cat minus her right rear foot, has a mouse in the house playing with it in the kitchen. She is freaky so when I get up to investigate, she streaks for the safety of the bedroom. Yep, there it is, a mouse shaped catnip toy! :D 8) Thank you very much. Now where was I in my browsing?

My 20+# Domestic Long hair, regularly kills any small critter it finds. However, he is quite selfish. We are never invited to partake, he insists on eating it all by himself. On the plus side no one for a fair distance away has any mouse type problems. He's also done a number on the very irritating squirrels.

I teased my cat once with a dead mouse, by dangling it over him, so he started climbing my pants leg.
I was more the happy to toss the mouse to him after that. I did not get mad or anything, he just followed his instincts.
And I learned a valuable lesson myself.

Gramps, it's obvious to me that you sir, are an enabler and your cat is hooked on drugs.

When I was an undergrad and managed a petshop, I was holding a friend's pet lion cub (MAYBE 10 lbs) and some teen girl came in with "OOOOHHH! What a cute kitten". The cub spooked and tried to sit on my head!
All that summer the scars REALLY impressed the girls! Then they faded.

You want REAL fun: Get a Siamese cat that likes to catch (not kill) gophers and brings them home & then turns them loose inside!

I can appreciate the effort to 'put it down'. Slick brought my wife a little rabbit about a week ago. He only 'put it down' long enough to get another grip. He and the rabbit disappeared under the porch. Never saw any bunny fuzz nor any sign of it. No idea if it was a toy or dinner.

I had a cat that would bring in Chipmunks and turn them loose! So how come they climbed the curtains?

Fish and Game dept says domestic cats are responsible for the extinction of over 3,000 different animal species worldwide and are a serious problem.

I wouldn't believe that is accurate.
