My Leupold 25-60X80 Spotting Scope recently went Tango Uniform so I contacted them and shipped the scope to them on Aug 9th and I got the scope back today (Aug 23rd). What great service and at no cost (I did not realize that the had a lifetime limited warranty). Great job Leupold!!!!!

.

Yet another example of why it pays to buy a quality product from a quality company.

I've bought used Leupold scopes that the company fixed under warranty, because they warranty the scope itself, and not for a particular owner.

I've had to send three rifle scopes back over the years and every one was back repaired and within a short period of time. The one on my .35 Whelen went out on an elk hunt. Had a nice broadside standing shot and a nice fat juicy cow. I held a bit high due to range for a lung shot and let fly. Said elk sat down like a dog sitting on it's haunches the slowly laid down and it was over. When we got to the elk there was no hole in her side. That bullet had hit at the base of her skull breaking the neck. The guide told me that was one hell of a shot. I should have kept my mouth shut but I told him where I actually aimed.
I tested that scope at the range shortly after I came home from the hunt and it was all over the place. Sent it in and when it came back Leupold said the entire mechanism for elevation and windage had literally disintegrated. The parts just fell out when they opened it up. There was a personal note with a phone number from the person who worked on the scope asking me what cannon was I shooting that so much damage was done? I called and told him just a .35 Whelen. FWIW, the other two scoped died while at the range. Not sure what they were on at the time but I think one was on a .270 and the other an 06.

Just be on the lookout for "goldring knockoffs".
