This site is broadcasting the entire log of communications between Houston and the spacecraft in "real time" right down to the second for the entire mission just as it happened at exactly the same time of day as back in 1969. It is fantastic. I've gotten hooked on it.

All I am seeing is a black screen. No video or audio.

Hi,

I'd forgotten how well those boys in Burbank had their sound stage set up! Wonder if they'll ever let us tour it?

Ok, seriously, that mission was amazing. My father the rocket scientist made sure we all got to the TV that Sunday afternoon to see Armstrong's first steps. A lot of the prelude has probably never been seen by the public, so this is a great learning opportunity.

There's talk about making America great these days. Hint: this was a GREAT America at work, with a lesson for all of us out here. There's a word that makes this kinda stuff possible. COOPERATION. :)

That'd be around $230 federal hockey tickets today. Still a great deal! You won't see any expense claims like that anymore.

Hi,

Pete, do you have any idea what those guys (our astronauts) were getting paid back then? I remember a story floating about amongst my father and his rocket scientist buddies/coworkers that the guys just got a standard "flight time" allowance, same as any jet jockey in their particular branch of the service, for their "astronaut flight time." My father's bunch were all involved with the Atlas project and the Air Force, not NASA--and they're all gone now, anyway--so I've no idea if they were right. However, I'm kinda thinking that $33.31 meant a lot more to Col. Aldrin back then than we might think today.

I’ve been hooked on it too I remembered most of it.
Our country achieved this with the largest industrial complex in the world, about 38% less population and a GDP of 1.076 trillion 1970 est. Now with 2018 numbers our population is 327.2 million with a GDP of 19.39 trillion. Retired Brigadier General Robert Spaulding states in an interview with Breibart News Tonight with a Deindustrialized America today we couldn’t reach the moon.

I don't know if we could reach the next block.
For many different reasons.

Brings back a lot of memories--
These were real men and achieved one of our nations greatest moments. With all the help from thousands of contractors and NASA employees.
And don't forget the crew of the Hornet.

I'm disappointed in you guys. You all know that the moon landing was faked.

I can't believe there are people who believe that kind of crap.
