Gas prices are jumping up the last two days. Two local stations yesterday morning had regular at $2.37 per gallon. By this morning one was at $2.51 and the other remained at $2.37. We went to grocery store and an hour later station no. 1 was at $2.57 and the one that was at $2.37 had jumped to $2.59. Good thing we got gas at the $2.37 price earlier this morning. Have no idea what it will be tomorrow at this time.

Lucky; Prices here took a 20 cent jump just before the 4th of July (Sounds like crooked GREED to me); right now they are back down to $2.52/Gallon.

On July 1 Illinois added another 19 cents per gallon in state taxes. So yeah, they went up here too. Thank goodness it's only about 1 mile to Missouri and much cheaper prices!

My car takes premium gas. Yesterday it was $3.41 at the Quick Trip which usually has the best prices.

Drove past the PX #2 gas pumps on way to Commissary; Regular @ $2.29. Less than an hour later on way home from Commissary Regular gas up to $2.39.

I drive my truck.
When I need to I put fuel in it.
I don't pay attention to the price.
I worry about and then fix things I can control,
like mowing the lawn when it needs it.
Gas prices isn't one of those things.
So much anger, so little time.

I'm in this camp, I honestly couldn't tell you how much a gallon of gas is in my neck of the woods.

Off post it is $2.61, PX is $2.58. This is for 87.

Studies showed that people did not buy less gas when it was above $4.00. That is not lost on the producers and distribution.
For reference, we (Exxon) made automotive gasoline three days per month. The other days were devoted to more-profitable oils and compounds.

Anger? That’s right, I’m furious. I’m so mad gas doesn’t cost $7 or $8 a gallon. Then perhaps there would be fewer single car drivers on the road and less emissions ruining the environment.

Yep, I’m mad. Hopefully when people start to care something will change.

Don't like the price of gas? Buy a gallon of water by the 16 oz bottle.

First off, what is a single car driver? Perhaps you meant single driver cars. I live out in the country so if I need to go anywhere what should I do? Should I gather neighbors to ride along? My wife has commitments in one direction the same time as I do in another. What do you suggest we do. Of course adding weight, as additional passengers, requires more power to move which uses more fuel to do so.

I'm not angry. I've learned to try to not get angry about things that I cannot control. It was just an interesting observation and btw, the prices have now dropped 4 cents at the same stations since this morning. You just can't figure this stuff out. *s*
