What Aisle is the Polish Sausage in?
Everyone seems to be in such a hurry to scream 'prejudice' these days.................

A customer asked, "In what aisle can I find the Polish sausage?"

The clerk asks, "Are you Polish?"

The guy, clearly offended, says, "Yes I am. But let me ask you something.

If I had asked for Italian sausage, would you ask me if I was Italian?

Or if I had asked for German Bratwurst, would you ask me if I was German?

Or if I asked for a kosher hot dog would you ask me if I was Jewish?

Or if I had asked for a Taco, would you ask if I was Mexican?

Or if I asked for some Irish whiskey, would you ask if I was Irish?"

The clerk says, "No, I probably wouldn't."

The guy says, "Well then, because I asked for Polish sausage, why did you ask me if I'm Polish?"

The clerk replied, "Because you're in Home Depot."

Some more dumb Poles:
(1) Composer Chopin
(2) Madame Curie ( the only person ever to receive 2 Nobel Prizes in 2 different sciences)
(3) Copernicus who proved the Earth revolved around the Sun and not visa versa
(4) Catherine the Great
(5) Composer Paderewski
(6) Novelist Joseph Conrad (Heart of Darkness)
(7) King of Poland Jan Sobieski who turned back the Ottoman Muslim invasion of Europe at the Battle of Vienna in 1683
(8) On May 16, 1944 the Polish II Corps General Wladyslaw Anders defeated the Nazis at the Battle of Monte Casino, Italy
(9) Not to mention that unlike much of Europe, Poland does not accept Muslim immigrants in their Christian country
So there you go, more dumb Poles.

I love it when folks say things like I'm Polish, or German or English or what have you. Truth is unless there is an undiscovered tribe in some densely forested land, no one is pure anything. Even if you disregard the fact that wars have been fought on every populated continent and soldiers always leave babies behind, human migration is such that none of us can claim to be pure anything.

The two things one can claim is their choice of religion and their country where they were born. Beyond that we are all pretty much mutts.

Why do so many Polish names end in "ski"?

Because they couldn't spell "toboggan".

And don't forget the Vistula River area was the beginnings of several proto cultures that spread across Europe. But the Mongols did invade and conquer Poland.

Which means if you claim to be a Pole you’re really part barbarian. Might explain the way the Poles conducted themselves in Warsaw during WW II. Gave the Nazis a really hard time.

Read "Poland" by James A. Michener.
My dad loved nothing more than a Polack Joke. What's a Polacks idea of a seven course meal?
Years later he told me how his mother, a grocer in East Chicago, had carried a lot of the immigrant Polish families throughout the Depression. Once they got back on their feet, the little ladies would add a quarter or two to each tab after they bought their weekly food, remembering and paying back her kindness.

I love polock jokes. The best ones I have got from relatives and polish friends. Once I told one at work. There was a guy that got a little peeved and may have been part polish and greek as he said, "Ya better not tell a Greek joke!" I couldn't resist. I said, a Greek and a polock married. They decided to name their kid Zorba the dumb chit! Boy he got mad!

I had a boss that was Polish and he LOVED for me to collect polock jokes while I was out in the field and then tell them to him.

You can't win 'em all. :) Being situated between Russia and Germany, (not what you would call good neighbors), it's amazing Poland survived at all.

(10) Forgot to mention that 145 Polish pilots fought in The Battle of Britain and shot down 201 Nazi aircraft. The 303 Polish Squadron shot down a total of 126 enemy aircraft which was the highest kills of all the allied squadrons that participated in The Battle of Britain.

There is a lot of European history that seems almost lost or at least in today`s PC world not taught and soon forgotten in just the last 100 to 150 years since many of our ancestors came over. My gr, grandfather was German Schwbian that had homesteaded in nw Volhynia, now the Ukraine around 1840. He came to the states with a large clan of relatives in 1872. He lost his first wife and a daughter here and moved his large family back to Russia and remarried. My grandfather married over there and emigrated here about 1898. Dad told me there was a lot of prejudice between the german and polish kids when he was a kid. He was born in 1913. Dad and a older brother were driving a team and wagon to town when a group of polish boys ran alongside them pelting them with stones. Uncle John horse whipped one of them so bad that later the kid died! There was still some prejudice between german and polish kids up to 1950 or so where I was raised. Dad said my grandpa told him if he married a polish or catholic he would disown him! He died about 1942 and I believe three of my uncles and aunts soon broke his law and married both polish and catholic. When I went to school there wasn't one black and just one Mexican family in the area. Political correctness wasn't the rule of the land yet. Things were more fun.
