Well folks today I read in the news that our Attorney General, Greg Abbott, has placed online pop up adds in New York inviting 2 A supporting NYers to move to Texas, lower taxes, and we won't try to take your guns. I hope a lot of them take him up on it. But if you do remember this is Texas, not New York so watch out how you speak to folks as we are a little less in your face, except for Alex Jones.

I once lived in Texas for almost 3 years. I lived in Austin for a while, then moved to San Antonio for a stretch. Was alright for the most part. Had to move to another state due to work. This was back in the late 80's.

I'm not sure I'd want a bunch of NYC refugees settling in my town.

Some years ago, I was in a training class with about 25 other people, from across the country. Two of them were from New York. They managed to thoroughly annoy absolutely everyone else.

That's what's happenin' in many places in Texas. The dang Yankees are comin' in and liberalizin' up the politics. We gotta insist that they assimilate into our culture and cowboy-up when they cross the Red or Sabine River.

Welcome 'em to Texas and take 'em shootin'.

If they're willing to move halfway across the country to stand up for their firearms rights, then I would have nothing but respect for them. That's a move that not a lot of people would undertake.

There's a lot of douchebags near the city here too. Most of them came from somewhere else.

I came from somewhere else, but stayed because I like to think I fit right in. Of course, I had to move further out of the city, GasGuzzler is right about the douchebags.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply all that come from somewhere else are DB's....just that most DB's come from somewhere else.

No worries, I knew what you meant, and I agree. Worked with a guy from New Jersey that was terrible.

Did you see the report about banning gunshows in public buildings in Travis county (Austin)? Greg Abbott basically told them to back off or they would face lawsuits. They did, the vote has been cancelled. Hooray for the good guys. Austin is another one of those areas that is moving just a tad bit too far left to suit me. JMO.

I did see that Karl. It's nice to know that state officials here know how to read the Constitution.

As long as they become Texans instead of turning the state into a NY annex they are welcome. From what I hear on another forum that is a problem with Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Folks flee NYC, MA and other lib bastion states to other states that are way different from the state they left and soon is overrun and turned into what those individuals left.
