Just curious how you guys and gals carry your concealed pistols? I have carried several different ways depending on what I am carrying and where I will be carrying.
I need a new holster and am considering different options for a compact pistol, so for the purpose of this poll, please tell me how you carry for your average day to day concealed carry.
Thanks
Greebe |

In the winter - SP101 - when wearing a jacket or "longer shirt" I like the Simply Rugged strong side, I also will wear it IWB and like the options with this holster.
I recently started carrying my SR9 more often with the IWB Crossbreed Supertuck and am equally pleased with it as I can wear a T-shirt and it conceals well.
However, my next purchase will be a true compact pocket gun - I have not settled on what I want yet; but I want an option that I can just slip in my pocket. Will be good to see the response options in your poll; maybe give me some ideas too. |

| I've used cross for decade both concealed and open. I like the accessability with either hand. And, when carrying a rifle slung, the handgun is not banging into the riflestock. But one of the most important reasons is that I just am not comfortable with IWB. |

| For the most part, it's a SP101 in a Mitch Rosen "Workman" (the tuckable everyone else copied). On occasion it might me a HK P7M8. |

ThunderWear - The holstered gun is worn underneath the carrier's pants, suspended in FRONT of the carrier's privates, and is drawn via pulling out the pants waistband with the off hand while drawing.

I checked "In a pocket" because that's what I do probably 80% of the time. But there are also times, when appropriate for the gun or the circumstance, I will use strongside, IWB, or crossdraw carry. About the only carry I have no use for is the shoulder holster -- I think my barrel chest and comparatively stubby arms make it just too clumsy. I could see finding it useful for a big hunting handgun, but the suject is concealed carry.
Summer is the best carry time of the year for me. Working, I am in airconditioned offices wearing a summerwight suit; on my own time, it's jeans and Hawaiian shirts. Either way, I can conceal the biggest hogleg if I feel a need to do so. |

I carry strong side (since 1996) Kahr MK9 but I have a pocket holster in my pocket in the event I don't have a "Cover Garment" on and need to go into a place of business. My choice of holster is a Fobus C21 paddle for strong side carry slips on and off easily.
I was dumbfounded recently while trying to obtain a left hand holster from Fobus for a customer who had recently bought a Ruger LCR from me. Fobus doesn't make a left hand holster for SP101/LCR revolvers. According to statistics only 10% of the population is left handed. My observation is 50% of the gun owners are left handed. Go figure, is it a left brain right brain thing? _________________ When I die no one's getting a new gun off of me.

I don't carry mine as I live in a county where the Sheriff won't issue any CCW permits unless you're rich or have connections (neither of which I have). To top it off the idiot voter's here just re-elected her so I guess I'm outta luck for 4 more years. _________________ Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you. -- Gen.9:3 |

I think I would rather have my "ThunderWear" off to the side a little bit.

Jimbo ... I'm with you 100% on this one
Greebe ... while I played around with a number of different holster types & locations when I first started carrying (as I would suspect most everyone does to some degree), for the sake of comfort & consistancy I settled on OWB ... Strong Side @ 4:00 .. Hume JIT Slide (good retention & an easy draw). Good luck with your decision _________________ "We will always remember. We will always be proud. Yep, Jimbo, off to the side is good. Coincidence that Susie and I were watching a medical show last night about accidents and this guy was carrying directly in front and tried to draw it and shot a hole in his penis. He was carrying a .32 , and I remember the Dr. telling him not to get a .45. They fixed him up, but it is an experience that I believe I could do without. Pocket for me. When carrying the 1911, left front pocket with my shirt out. When carrying the Thunderer or Walther, back left pocket, again with shirt out. Since I am a bum now, I can wear my shirts out.lol Hank. _________________ My .45 only speaks one language, but it speaks it fluently. |

I usually carry an S&W 642 in a blackhawk holster. They ride very close and I virtually always wear my shirts out. I also do the occasional Mexican carry with a semi, or slip a gun in a pocket but I really like this holster and it serves my purpose. _________________ NRA Life Member

I had to look around for another holster myself not too long ago. I went from my P94 to a walther P99 subcompact. The 94 I always wore SOB because it was the only place it didn't print on me, and was still comfortable. Then I got my walther and of course being a subcompact was way easier for me to conceal. For that I use a IWB at about the 1 o'clock position, which works pretty well for me.

IWB at 3-4 o'clock for my p-90 or GP100. Most of the time, I carry my 38 snubbie in a front pocket and in a Simply Rugged pocket holster. Occasionally, when traveling or going to a movie, I will carry in a Galco Miami Classic shoulder holster.

Aren't you guys gonna kick that __________ (think female dog) out of office come this fall? She was a bad choice from LA County sheriffs department or the LA PD from what my brother tells me ( he lives in Orange county) and promptly set out canceling concealed carry permits as soon as in office. he also said she apparently wasn't a "stellar" performer in her previous position and they were glad to be rid of her. _________________ PJSD |
