That bear could have really F'ed a guy up. I'll stick to these little black bears that we have roaming around WI. _________________ Carl R. Schultz

That arm was as big as Greg's torso.
What a monster. Someone was walking with God on that day.
Great story. Thanks for sharing. _________________ "Live free or die. Death is not the worst of evils." - General John Stark

Most important thing is you are ALIVE!! and the reason being is
that you were smart enough to go armed. I would think that would be the norm for where you live.
No doubt Gods Hand was on you that day!!
Thanks for sharing your story.

Wonder where Disney is today??? Oh,, they are planning more Bambi type flics to "educate" our kids on how nice & cuddly our wildlife is.
Folks,,, this is real life. It's sad that any wildlife gets to the point that old bear was in,,, but it's good that the person involved wasn't hurt. All too often,,, it doesn't happen that way. _________________ Shoot straight and safe!

Glad you survived, what an experience! And you are right about covering 20 yds in 1 second, people just don't realize how fast a bear can move. That 454 will be/should be on Rugers front cover!
