3. Traditions 1858 New Army aluminum framed, 7 1/5" barrel ?

I never heard of an aluminum framed 1858 Army repro, nor a 7 1/5 inch barrel. Are you sure?

Zullo74, pretty sure it is aluminum. A magnet won't attach. The finish is powdercoating.

The barrel is 8" from the face of the cylinder, so your right there.

Thanks

Well you just told me what the frame material is. It's brass and then someone painted it. No one I know of ever made a C&B gun from aluminum. Traditions is a distributor and their guns are made by Pietta. Pietta only makes brass and steel framed revolvers.

Not to argue, but it isn't brass. Powdercoating is flacking off in several areas. You ban see it is cast and is silvery metal. I tried to scratch it and it is pretty hard.

I don't think Pietta made it

sometimes a magnet won't really stick to stainless, could it be a stainless gun painted? I have to agree no one ever made an aluminum frame unless it's a non-firing replica made from pot metal

Yes, could be a stainless frame I guess. I just checked my stainless 1860 Euroarms and the stainless barrel is magnetic, but the frame and cylinder are not.
