Picked up a new Mark III 22/45 on Monday. Just the plain Jane, not the RP. Took it to the range Tuesday. Put a couple of hundred rounds through her. Remington, Winchester and CCI. Couple of rounds didn't fire. One stovepie. No failure to feeds. I got home and stripped and cleaned her. Had a few "Oh, so that's how it goes.". I am a happy camper. Second Ruger, first semi auto pistol. Not the last of either. _________________ Gravity is not only a law, it's a really good idea.

My Mark III 22/45 shoots great with Winchester Power Points. Bought it, made several mods including a red dot scope and somehow got it back together.
Very pleased. _________________ NRA Life Member

The Ruger website has videos regarding disassembly, cleaning and reassembly of the Mark III. Short but informative. _________________ Gravity is not only a law, it's a really good idea.

I just got one a couple of weeks ago and they can be a little tricky to put back together. I had some old Winchester Dyna-Points that choked in mine, but nothing else did so far. _________________ Best,Baldy.. |

After adding Volquartsen triggers to both my MK IIIs (Target and 22/45RP Target) and taking them apart a couple times it becomes very easy. Patience is the key. _________________ Someone who thinks logically provides a nice contrast to the real world. |

The Zen of gun disassembly and assembly. You're right Fox Mike. Went to the range again Thursday. Once again no problems with 3 types of ammo. Got home and diassembled, cleaned and reassembled her. It was easier than the first time. How are the Volquartsen triggers? Was it hard to change over? _________________ Gravity is not only a law, it's a really good idea.

I have the Volquartsen trigger & sear in mine and it makes a difference. The biggest difference is in the Clark MK-II bushing. It does away with the mag safety and improves the trigger pull a bunch.
Here's the place to go to if you want to learn about working on your Ruger. Plenty of pictures and lot of info on the forum. Good luck.
