I have a question. On the SR9, should the slide stop engage automatically when there is no magazine inserted in the gun? I have found that with mine the slide stop will not auto engage when there is no magazine in the gun, I have to engage it manually. When there is a magazine in the gun the slide stop does engage automatically.

Is this normal?

No ... it is the follower in the empty magazine that places upward pressure on the slide stop causing it to engage the slide. No magazine ... no pressure.

Thanks, that clears it up for me. I just wanted to make sure I hadn't broken it already.
