| Wanted to get some opinions...I live in Florida and where I'm at, we only see a couple of weeks per year where a jacket is required...so I wear t-shirts all the time...I'm 6'4" and my weight goes up and down but stays between 225 and 240...being so hot down here I don't think I want to go with an IWB holster and constantly sweat all over my pistol...so I'm prolly gonna start carryin' in a pancake holster with a slide protector....My question is this, Do any of ya'll have problems with profilin' with a pancake and a t-shirt?... |

I don't really know what to tell you, a "GOOD" IWB will/should protect your pistopl from sweat ( I bought one for my SR9 from Bullard Leather in Texas). Do you wear your T-shirt tucked in or hanging out? Maybe a slightly larger size untucked would let you conceal a pistol in an outside holster. Some people carry in a "fanny pack" too. I know about the temps, I'm in the Tampa Bay area. _________________ PJSD |

| Untucked...I just can't bring myself to wear a man-purse...I reckon my size is kinda weird...I wear a XLT...a regular XL is too short...and a XXL looks like I'm wearin' a tent... |

| I live in the Tampa area as well. I typically wear a collared shirt, tail untucked, and have no problems concealing. When I'm wearing a t-shirt, I'm also in shorts and throw a hammerless S&W .38 in my pocket. |

I usually carry an XD-40 or a P-944 in a Don Hume 721 holster OWB. If I wear a loose fitting Polo shirt or T-shirt I can usually conceal pretty well as long as I don't bend over. Some of this depends on the cut of the shirt. I'm just shy of 6'2" and around 210 pounds. I do use the 2X tee shirts though. _________________ GeorgiaCarry.orgMember |

A SimplyRugged pancake and Tshirt works for me all summer long.

I agree with Colonialgirl – a “good” IWB holster will protect your gun from sweat. That said, while we were in Southern California visiting my mother-in-law earlier this year, a retired San Diego cop unwittingly taught me something about concealed carry. What I learned was that if I hadn’t been looking for it, I wouldn’t have even noticed the bulge created by the handgun the ex cop was carrying under his t-shirt.
Mom lives in a mobile home park in Chula Vista. One afternoon a guy that looked to be in his mid 60s, in pretty good shape and wearing a white t-shirt and jeans walked past the windows in front of mom’s coach. He wasn’t over 10 feet from me. Mom immediately started complaining about him. She said he’s a retired San Diego cop and he moved in there sometime last year. She made it sound like he’s quite the jerk. She said he acts like he has some kind of authority in the park even though he’s not even on the board, and he lets everyone know he carries a gun. Anyway, it wasn’t until mom said the guy was always bragging about carrying a gun that I even noticed. Sure enough – whatever kind of handgun he was carrying was making his t-shirt bulge out badly just behind his right hip.
Ever since then, I haven’t worried as much about my handgun printing. I still wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing a tight fitting t-shirt over it, but yeah, I can see I’m carrying a gun, even while wearing a loose fitting summer sports shirt – IF I stand in front of a full length mirror and look. Still, I’ll bet most people assume it’s a cell phone, IF they notice the bulge under my shirt at all.
Then again, this is Eastern Idaho, not Florida. For a few weeks every summer it gets pretty darn hot here, but it’s not like I have a great deal of experience carrying a concealed handgun in 90+degree heat. We don’t have to wear a jacket or a coat year around here, but there are very few weeks out of the year when we feel okay about leaving home without an extra layer – “just in case.” |

| what do you carry? thats going to be a factor. a motorcycle vest works well with bigger autos. for sp101 or compact pistols a big tshirt works fine with a beltslide. |

| I carry a LCR...it's not a problem concealing at a ll...but I'm going to get a Sig P229 SAS...I believe it would be considered a medium framed semi...I want to carry it also dependin' on where I'm goin', etc... |
