The Leupold VX-1 or VX-2 in 2-7x would be perfect. My favorite all around scope is the Leupold Vari x-III or newer VX-3 2.5-8x. They will work from close range to as far as you care to shoot. I have killed elk out to 350 Yards with my 2.5-8x set at 4x. Usually to only time I turn any scope up to...

I would send it back to Ruger. Which M77 is it? Factory or rebarreled? If factory and it was mine it would be off to Ruger.

I'd like to get a couple of 06's ...one to use as is....the other to turn into a LH 9.3x62 African style with sights. Maybe another short action to turn into a 250 Savage :)

I just got a LH Hawkeye in 7mm-08. I had wanted one for a while and decided to grab one while I still could. I see they still offer the LH 375 Ruger in African and Guide gun. I will have to get one of those next........

I had one in 308. I just could not get that rifle to shoot well. Ended up selling it to pay for a custom mauser I was having built.

While I would LOVE to do a brown bear hunt the reality of it is that the cost of such a hunt is way out of my league. Now if I WON a hunt for brown bear......my Stainless, laminated 300 win mag Hawkeye would be the rifle I'd take. I have a 2-7x Leupold scope on it. Very accurate. I'd load up 200...

She always likes to be surprised.....she never saw this one coming, but LOVES it. Spent time in the blizzard on Valentines day teaching her to shoot it. Better than candy or flowers ;) Very fun to shoot

Those Stag grips and handles are very nice. If I get the Mammoth ivory I would look at making them myself to help with cost. .....Now I just need a supply of mammoth ivory.....

Thanks for posting the knife for me. I would really like a matched set between my knife and my 44 mag superblackhawk.

I have been trying to upload pictures of knife with the mammoth ivory grips to photobucket with no success. Looks like they changed their format AGAIN and it is not working.

Does anyone know a source for mammoth ivory grips for a Super blackhawk 44 mag? Bought a custom hunting knife and would like to get some matching grips made.

Will look into that if I have to.....but I think I should be able o get a stainless barrel done up just like the Ruger Target Grey. Does anyone here have a clue how Ruger does it?
