That's the long and short of it. I have both and it would be tough to decide between the 2. I like the 6 and a half at the range more but the 4.62 just fits me better. Get the Stainless, easier to clean and resists rust, plus just looks good.
Maas polish a fine brass brush and 3 minutes of time will work every time on stainless. That brass won't wear out that stainless in your or your kids lifetime.
lately I've had several younger guys ask about my Blakhawk. They didn't know the difference between single and double action revolvers. The last 2 guys were Marines and they asked if they could try a few rounds and I said sure. They had never shot SA revolvers and thought it was a great...
Sig P226 is my favorite with the Beretta 92 right behind it. The Sig can hold 20 rounds with a modified mag baseplate and I've never had a misfire in thousands of rounds. Once you get the sight pattern down it's very accurate too. They are flawless pieces. Of course you need a thousand bucks to...
Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing about the spring. Really don't need 6 anyway, just found it easy to load the 6th and it functioned. Think I'll stay with the 5 rounds it was designed for.
In re-assembly my slide goes back about 90% of the way than stops dead. It's new to me so I could use some advice. I've only put 30 rounds through it and the first time I cleaned it before taking it out I had no problems. Any ideas?
I accidentally put 6 rounds in my 5 round mag and it took them all and worked fine. I've since put 6 into my other 2 and they worked fine too. Am I hurting something doing this? I'll only load 5 for the time being just wondering what others have seen.
My 10 is recessed and seems sharp too but not so much that I want to do any grinding. Compared to my Single 6 it's quite noticable and I can see why you would consider working on it though. Let us know what you did and the results.
thanks for all the input. I'll try different weights on the bullets and see what happens. I was shooting 158 gr in the 38's and 115 in the 9mm and I was happy that the 9mm's grouped as well as the 38's. I need to get outside and get out to 25 yards too, we are warming into the 70's so the longer...
I shot 24 rounds of 39 special through my Blackhawk then changed over to the 9mm cyl and my next 12 shots were low by an inch or so at 30 feet. 38's were Georgia Arms 800 fps and the 9mm was fmj Lawman 115gr. I was grouping the same and lateral shot placement was very good and similar on both...
Yeah, get the 9mm cyl if you can. I've got a 6" 357 w/9mm in stainless and it would either be that one or the P226 as last gun I'd give up. My wife likes her 4 1/2 incher better than my 6 and she has the Hogue monogrip on it which really is pretty good on the hand. You will love this gun. Period.
