I was referring to modern 1911's. I don't know anyone carrying the "original". It's still my opinion and experience that the best way to train and carry (a modern 1911) is cocked and locked.

I used the 8lb trigger spring (only one in the kit) and the 10lb hammer spring.
No on the Loctite. When fitting the sight, I left it ever so slightly tight so I had to lightly tap the sight in to the slot. Once the roll pin was in, that sight isn't going anywhere. :wink:
I just installed a Trijicon Big Dot Front Sight on my SP101 2 1/4" .357 I'm no gunsmith but it wasn't too hard to fit and drill.
Put in a Wolfe Spring kit too. Way better trigger!
