New Galloway Trigger Kit for LC9

Well there is a lot of wisdom in these posts about Galloway. I only wish I could have seen it before spending $110. on their trigger kit. I was pleased with the kit at first, but after about 300 rounds I started getting intermittent FTF problems. I have changed the gun back to the original...

NEW GUIDE ROD FOR THE NEW LC9s

I am not surprised that there are problems with the guide rods, they are made of plastic !!! Replaced mine with a stainless steel one from Galloway. Ruger's design problems with this gun have hurt their reputation IMO.

    lc9 trigger

I only had the Factory trigger for a short time, but did not notice this problem. I gutted my LC-9 and replaced the trigger with one from RTK. Also replaced the springs, trigger bar, and guide bar. It shoots a lot better but I have not fired enough rounds thru it to determine reliability...

New Galloway Trigger Kit for LC9

Question for gusco21. Why did you remove the RTK trigger and the Galloway trigger bar and just leave the reduced power springs ? Was there a problem ?

New Galloway Trigger Kit for LC9

A little over a year ago the town of West, Texas was partially destroyed when a storage facility containing ammonium nitrate blew up. Twelve first responders were killed. The event happened on the East side of town and took out schools, rest home, and dozens of homes.

I would love to read your review gusco21. Where would I find it ? I don't see a link with your comment.

New Galloway Trigger Kit for LC9

Well the guy says he is from CZ and later he states that he lives in Central Europe. So it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out he lives in the Czech Republic (the former Czechoslovakia). Here in Texas the town of West has a long history of immigrants who came over from Czechoslovakia...

New Galloway Trigger Kit for LC9

Man I hope you got all your money back on the $600. LC-9 plus the outrageous money you had to spend on the magazines. I don't know where CZ is (maybe in Europe ?) but remind me not to go there for gun purchases. I paid $380. for mine new in the box, plus $25. for one extra magazine. You have...

How to hot blue, for those that want to know

Reply to Meshugunner : I did not read all the posts before making my post so I missed your comments about Ammonia. It appears that you are confused about the chemicals used in this process. It is not household Ammonia used in this process, but ammonia nitrate. Yes there are Ammonia fumes...

How to hot blue, for those that want to know

Good to know this process but it sounds like obtaining the chemicals could be difficult after West Texas was blown up by ammonium nitrate. I have had good results with Hoppe's #9 Cold Blue Kit after I learned to not follow their directions. The gun in question is a Remington Model 34 Bolt...

    LC9 "slide shake"

I recommend a close inspection of the plastic recoil spring guide rod. I changed out my plastic spring guide rod and the 16 Lb. factory recoil springs to a stainless steel guide rod and 20 Lb. recoil springs from Galloway. I did this because I had seen on-line comments about problems with the...

    Done with plastic guns?

I also dislike plastic framed pistols and I also dislike striker fired pistols. Yes I am "old school" and proud of it. But the major manufacturers have found the public's desire for a lighter handgun can be satisfied with a cheaper plastic frame, that means more profit for the gun makers...

New Galloway Trigger Kit for LC9

I agree the LC-9 does have some drawbacks. But I think I have overcome these drawbacks by up-grading the trigger and springs. The S&W Shield is also a nice gun but the see thru gap between slide and frame was excessive and the striker fire was a turn off. With the LC-9 you can see the hammer...

    Help with range bag recommendation

When I go to the range my gear travels in an old Samsonite brief case with a three tumbler lock built in. It can carry a lot of weight (guns & ammo etc,) with a very nice handle. No sagging in the middle like you have on soft bags with shoulder straps. The locking feature allows me to go out...

New Galloway Trigger Kit for LC9

Request to area338. Is the Galloway kit you had problems with purchased before May 2014 ? Did your kit come with the RTK trigger and reduced power springs ? The reason I ask is that there have been several versions of the Galloway kit over the last couple of years. Some just trigger bars...
