    What’s your bedroom gun?

I have ready access to all manner of handguns, rifles, and shotguns, but my nightstand go-to is a 1911, .45 ACP, cocked and locked.

    only in NYC !

This reminds of the meme where a gun carrying home owner had a burglar at bay. Burglar: "Aren't you going to call the police"? Home owner: "Why, no one else knows you are here". Reservations for one please.

    TV show "Black Sheep Squadron"

One of the best parts about the show was the interaction between Micklin and Boyington. I miss Red West.

    Beverly Hillbillies. Classic TV.

When my room mate and I watched re-runs of WKRP while we were in college, we called it "The Bailey Quarters Show".

    Giving up some Rugers

Got me too but I read it on 11 April. A friend of mine at work, Army, tried to pull an April Fool's on me. He approached me reading from his phone, "effective beginning next quarter, Marine Drill Instructors will be called Drill Sergeants to bring them in line with the other branches of the...

Sort of choked me up a little....................

Nice touch. If I received a card from my wife it would probably say, "I love you more every minute...And buy the way I "borrowed" $1500 from your account for hay" Oh well, I knew she had horses when I married her.

    Ordered my sight

My friend had a very fine Krag with the sights you mentioned. It was very accurate and I tried to get him to shoot it in our local club's Vintage category. He would not, but he suggested that I shoot it. I began working up loads for it but before I could compete with it he got a very good offer...

    Only In Texas

I would be less surprised by Zebras in Texas than I was by the Camel we encountered in rural Ontario. The back roads between Kitchener and Bradford make it easy to make a wrong turn, but we always know that we are on the right road when we go past the Camel. And then there is the time I was...

How to drive a car with a clutch

When my older daughter turned 16 we started car shopping. We set a budget then started talking about options. On the subject of transmissions, I told her that if she would drive a manual, we could get a newer, nicer car, about $1000 worth newer or nicer. She replied, "Father, I just do not feel...

    Ignorance at a gun show

"I heard it at a gun show" is about as credible as "I saw it on the internet". You may get some good information there, but then again, maybe not. When I get a bullsh!t sales pitch, I just remember that gun shows are places to find entertainment as well as guns. It's all part of the show.

How to land on a Carrier at night in rough sea

I always enjoyed watching the CH-53s pull the sleds in St Andrew's Bay, Florida. Very impressive. CH-53s are BIG.

How to drive a car with a clutch

I am not an automotive engineer, but my thoughts are these. Transmissions are designed to transfer power, whether in forward or reverse does not matter. Downshifting in a non-abusive manner should not be damaging to the transmission, plus, it keeps me in the proper gear should I need to go from...

For the 2 wheelers out there

Well Fox Mike, it takes all kinds and you cannot tell by looking. You look to be a few years older than me, but not by too much. Counting back 40+ years, all of my streetbikes were sportbikes, or crotch rockets as you call them. At age 60, I thought that I might want to grow up and get a cruiser...
