I've carried mine since about 4 months after they first came out...2 or 3 years ago; I can 't remember. Never had a misfire, about 500 rds through it but I only shoot it a few times a year to maintain my feel for it.
I keep trying to find something I like better to carry but haven't been...
mm6, nice PPK.
FastEd, I used to have the little Llama, it was loose but it was accurate and never failed to fire. Wish I never sold it, but part of the money went to my Walther so it worked out for me.
If you drive through Post Falls stop at Cabelas. They carry .44 mag Buffalo Bore hardcast. I use the same but in .41 mag. For me it's my first choice when fishing outside Coeur D Alene, but if I tent camp it's a back up as I have my .45-70 in the tent with me at night. Over in Montana or...
I bought my .45-70 back when they weren't so popular (30+ years ago) and in looking for a trail gun decided on the .41 Mag as well. The .44 Mag was so hyped after the Dirty Harry movies I just never had any desire for it. So it comes down to personal taste. And I still have no desire for a .44...
I've carried my GP100 with Buffalo Bore, it's the way to go with that gun. I know of a few outfitters in Wyoming that carry .357s too. Still it's pretty light so last year I bought a Blackhawk in .41mag and it's now my carry gun when fishing. We don't have too many grizzlies in No. Idaho, but...
I carry a .41 Mag BH, 4 5/8" barrel. Chances of me running into a Griz is small but I do fish where they are around. Bigger chances are wolves, cats and moose. I don't worry much about back bears, been around them all my life but I suppose the .41 will do for them as well.
If I upped the...
There's reports of BB ruining LCPs over at Elsie Pea Forum. Since Ruger advises against anything other than standard loads in the LCP I've decided it's not worth it.
Most of the big shops today use steel weights. They will be stamped (usually) with a "Fe" for iron. The Zinc will have a "Zn". Getting rid of those two will cut down on the unwanted alloys.
I use the comparable BB round in my BH .41 Mag, it's a stout cartridge to be sure. My BH handles it well, I'm sure an Alaskan would have no problems with it at all.
I have a Henckels pocket knife I bought about 10 years ago with buffalo horn handle. Actually bought two of them, they were pricey but real nice knives. One I carry every day since I bought it, the other stays in a drawer. Almost a light creme when new, the one I carry has yellowed to a deep...
My 4" GP100 needed a big brother so I got a 4 5/8" BH in .41Mag to take care of it.
Both are woods carry guns and not hunters so the shorter length is all I wanted.
