    Older 10/22

I would second the opinion of keeping it, both for the reason it is much better made than the ones you see now and it would be a great one to keep to think of your Dad when you shoot it. I would like to get one like that but I am on the opposite corner of the country and I have spent my gun...

Ruger ranch rifle magazine problems .

I bought the Ranch rifle when it came out in 5.56 and just a few months later they came out with the AR magazine version. Never really liked the rotary mag so I looked at converting mine but was told on a couple of sites the conversion would not work because the bolt was different. Talked myself...

    I need grip recommendations...

That is some nice work. Definitely a talented individual.

    Bayonets and Old rifles

I heard it was said during one training session that if there was a bullet in the chamber there wasn't going to be any bayonet fighting when it was said to fire a round to loosen the bayonet stuck in an enemy. I bought one of the pistol bayonets when I found it for the right price just as a...

Would you trade a Ruger SR 1911 for a Ruger GP 100 .357 Mag?

If I had a surplus of 1911s and a shortage of GP100s I would consider it an even trade. I have owned several GP100s and will not get rid of my current one. Recently traded my SR1911 for a Colt Defender 1911 but I have other full size 1911s. The GP100 is a good revolver.

Some will call it blasphemy, but I just traded off my SR1911

I just traded my SR1911 for a Colt Defender. I have been wanting a smaller frame 1911 and found this one used. Still have a couple of full size Springfields and the Ruger was the one I wanted to let go. The Colt is a good shooting pistol. I have traded several over the years. Some I regretted...

Ruger Takes Steps to End World Profanity....

I may have to consult the manual occasionally but I don't have a problem cleaning my MK IIs or MK III. I like my one MK lll after replacing certain parts but still prefer the MK II and would like to find one of the 10" version one day. I might end up with a MK IV one day but it is not high on my...

45 ACP cylinder on different revolver.

Thanks for the replies. The cylinder play seems to be the same as the 45 LC cylinder and the chambers line up so it looks to be safe. I will shoot it and see how accurate it is.

45 ACP cylinder on different revolver.

I know this has been covered before but I have a spare .45 ACP cylinder that drops into my 45 LC Blackhawk and seems to lock up and index properly. Do I need to get it checked by a gunsmith or send it to Ruger to get it fitted or is it safe to fire it? Looking for thoughts.

Picked one up about a year ago. I would grab it if it is what you are looking for.

    IDPA questions

Start with what you have. I started shooting IPSC over 25 years ago and shot one IDPA match plus some action pistol. I have used a Taurus 92, Springfield P9 which is the CZ75 clone made by Tanfoglio and sold by Springfield before the CZ was imported in numbers, 9mm 1911 and several of the old...

rave of the day about Standard Ruger 22

I prefer a semi-auto in a self defense situation but I am glad to know that I would not feel unarmed if I had a SA or DA revolver. If you have seen Jerry Miculak shoot a DA revolver and reload you would wonder why anyone needed an auto pistol. When he was shooting in an IPSC match I was shooting...

    Rant, MidwayUSA sucks.

I have been using Midway for years. They are not as good as they were and the shipping has gotten worse, but that is a product of the USPS and the companies. I live where I have to travel 50 miles to find a decent gun shop and most of them are high priced or will not have what you are looking...

Looking to get a Stainless Blackhawk in .357

You will enjoy it. I was in a gunshop just looking at the first of the year and saw one just like what you ordered. I had some trading stock so I picked it up. The price was just over 600 before the trade. I have had several others but this is the first short barreled .357 and I like the feel of...
