    AYA, anyone?

Jack O'Connor used to carry one for upland game......about the extent of my knowledge on the AYA.

Recommendations for a full size 9mm pistol?

I have a full-size S&W M&P9 and a Browning Hi-Power. Both are equally reliable. The Hi-Power is a "T" series so it is basically a range gun. The M&P is reliable and accurate and can take an incredible amount of abuse. I can recommend it without remorse.

    Ruger American pistols.

I saw one today in my LGS. They are taking orders; the one they have is for display only. To me it looks like one of the FNs at least in the slide area. That's what I thought it was in the case at first, then I saw the sign about taking orders. I think it will sell well.

    Elk/deer/antelope rifle for Daughter #1

That's a dandy setup. If you handload get some 165gr or 180gr nosler partitions and she'll be good. Premium factory loads from Federal or one of the other big names otherwise. Good luck to her!

    Red Label Decision (help)

I have two of the older versions - stainless not blued. One is a 20ga and one is a 12ga - both have 26"bbls. Both have functioned flawlessly and many of pheasants and other upland game have fallen to both guns. The 12ga admittedly is not the smoothest swinging, but the 20ga is a pure joy to...

    M77 RL in 30-06 Load

51 or 52gr of IMR 4064. That is a classic load for the 150gr bullet. Also 48gr of the same powder for 180gr pills. The latter was used by Jack O'Conner frequently.

sp 101 22 or sr22? which to get.

I assume you are talking about the new SP101 - stainless with a 4.2" barrel, adj rear sight and fiber optic front sight. I think that would be a better gun for your purpose. But there is a difference in price that may effect your decision. The SR22 can be had for $300; the SP101 is north of $500.

Nice pick up Mark. Those are nice looking guns!

    Winchester 94

I've got a 1950 version and had a 1967 version. Compared side-to-side the bluing on the '50 version is much better. The '67 version (and I've heard other late '60s versions) used some sort of casting for the receivers and therefore a different bluing which didn't seem as durable. That changed...

    22/45 Concern

Thanks for all the replies. I really don't think it is a storage issue. I keep it in the original plastic case and it is stored along with many other handguns. I've never had an issue with the other guns. Many of my guns are in "Bore-Store" silicon socks, but those with the hard plastic cases...

    22/45 Concern

I have a 22/45 that seems to develop surface rust on the "silver" part or unblued part of the bolt. This is the exposed portion when the bolt is fully in the receiver. I love the gun, it operates flawlessly and is very accurate. But if it sits for a month or two, and I go to retrieve it, I...

Will the LC9 survive the M&P Shield?

I've shot the LC9 but not the Shield. I'm sure the Shield would have the better trigger, as that LC9 trigger is loooonnng, and not to different than my S&W 642 revolver. However, even though the outside dimensions of the two guns are very similar, the LC9 is very sleek and contoured and does...

    new sp 101 22's

I saw two at a gun show in northern IL this morning. One was priced at $555; the other at $585 IIRC.......seemed a bit high, but I haven't been following this model closely.
