Just curious, What were the markings on the receiver? Was it actually marked 10/17? I too have seen what appeared to be one but I was skeptical as it was marked 10/22, barrel appeared factory however 96/22 and 96/17 have the same barrel shank as the 10/22 and will interchange.

What's the cylinder look like? does it have the Bisley Roll mark or is it fluted? The early ones were fluted.
