In regards to the chamber indicator, I find it to be informative, as it tells me "I'm good to go". During action shoots, it tells you clearly you are locked and loaded or there is a problem and you know it sooner so that you can clear the weapon and continue.

I'm asking about outside of the barrel...actually I had asked Ruger what they used and they recommended the Scotch Brite and to make sure that you also rub in the same direction as the finishing. A gun shop also said to use a little oil with the scotch brite.

I must tell you that I did not look in the paint department.......I went to the cleaning area where they had other Scotch Brite products. Thanks for the thought...that I should have thought of myself.. :oops:

Does anyone know where you can buy ultra fine Scote Brite used to remove small scatches from a SS barrel?? Tried Home Depot/Lowes and asked at Gun Shop...no success as of yet?? Many thanks!

Should I use loctite on the mounting screws? I just noticed that the screw holes go right thru into the slide and concerned should loctite flow into mechanism.

At age 67 having trouble seeing the sights.....either the rear sight is clear or the front...never both. Recently, given a Simmons scope to try....ProHunter 4x32...any experience out ther with this scope combo? Might this be the answer??? Just a target shooter indoor 50 foot range. Many thanks!
