I'll second that. I got rid of the mag safety and installed a Volquartzen accurizing kit. Mine is accurate, reliable and the mags drop free now that the mag safety is gone. It's a fun little pistol.

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. If Ruger was discontinuing the Single Six I could see all the hand wringing. I have a Single Six in .22 and .32 H&R Mag and a Bearcat with adjustable sights. Do I need another small bore single action? Maybe - seems like this would be a good knock-around...

Shot mine again today and it also shoots to the left about 1-1/2 to 2". Got to fix that before the next range trip.

Neat pictures! We don't have pilated woodpeckers in my neck of the woods. We have red bellied, red headed, downy, hairy and flicker varieties in these parts. They are all smaller than yours.
