    Question about Single Six

Hunter, Thank you for the help. I'm not a collector so whatever it is, I'm not going to worry about it, I'm going to shoot it just as I do with the 6 1/2 inch SBH I have.

    Question about Single Six

OK, I'm an idiot but a confused one. Turns out the ejector housing is aluminum. The magnet was attracted to the spring guide. There are also the usual markings on the lower left of the frame. Ruger Single Six on one line and .22 caliber on the other. No mention of it being a magnum but I...

    Question about Single Six

Hunter, after reading your post I asked myself how I knew it was LR only, and realized I didn't. There aren't any identifying marks on it other than the serial number, XR3RED, manufacturer, and the city. I' ve been busy cleaning a Marlin 336 made in 1948 and a Remington model 17 that were part...

    Question about Single Six

Sorry, it only has the LR cylinder. I checked the cylinder pin and ejector housing several times-steel. Thank all of you for your replies.

    Question about Single Six

Thanks, that's an odd one but it makes sense that you'd be right and from what the former owner said '64 sounds right. I posted here some a good while back but I' ve been in lurk mode for a long time since I had nothing to contribute.

    Question about Single Six

I got it from the serial number list on the Ruger site. Maybe I misread.

    Question about Single Six

a few days ago a neighbor offered me some "old guns" among them was an Old Model SS which aside from a broken Walnut grip is in very good condition. It does not have the transfer bar, the ejector tube and cylinder pin are steel, it has a 61/2 bbl, and the ser. No. is 3904xx. It appears the DOM...

    Replacement SBH grips

A few days ago several of you said you'd like to see photos of the SBH I asked about. Not having any luck posting to the forum but PM me and I'll send you the photos. If anyone has a set of original replacement grips, I have an ad in classifieds and still want to buy a pair.

    Replacement SBH grips

It is an Old Model and came with a 61/2 inch barrel. I don't know anything about medallions but these are about the size of a dime and shiny silver with a black eagle?? inside. I'm not interested in changing anything on it and the stocks are what appears to be oil finished plain walnut. I...

    Replacement SBH grips

New here, but I've been lurking a long time. I never joined because in view of the knowledge here, I just didn't have anything to add but now I have a question. I have an SBH, with a 6 1/2 in bbl, on which one of the grips, which has been reglued several times, has finally broken for good...
