Brownells has them for the Mark II for $9.99 for the blued and $12.99 for the stainless, Ram Line made one in polymer at one time, they show up on amazon and ebay from time to time for about $5.00. You may need to enlarge the pivot pin holes in them slightly but they work great...
I've Had a Kimber Ultra Carry II from when they first came out. Not sure how many rounds I've put through it, have lost count. It's never jammed or had any kind of problems. It's a surprisingly accurate and fun gun to shoot.
Alliant Powder's website shows 45 Colt max loads for Unique with Speer 200 gr and 250 gr LSWC at 9.5 grains. I usually load 8 to 8.5 grains. 7.5 should be safe if the cyl is as strong as a Colt/Colt clone.
I think sometimes some guns just prefer certain weight bullets, while others of the same gun may not be so picky. I tried several different powders, charge weights, and bullet styles and never found an accurate load for anything over 265 grains in my 7.5 inch Redhawk 44 mag, but have had good...
A longtime ago...back in the '80's I think, I bought some PMC ammo because it was inexpensive. There were many rounds that wouldn't fire. I saved them and pulled them apart and reloaded them and they worked fine. The brass lasts a long time through many reloads so it wasn't a waste of money, but...
I do not have personal experience with that model but from what I have read it is not that accurate with 45acp. The reason being that it uses the same cylinder for 45acp as it does for 45 Colt. If you really want a revolver that shoots 45acp accurately I think you'll want to get something that...
Could be the previous owner tried to remove the mag safety and only got as far as removing that pin. The trigger pivot can be a bear to remove on some of the newer guns. Sometimes it helps to apply a bit of CLP to the pin and let it sit for an hour or so first. Some gunsmiths won't do the job as...
The hi-power has always been a favorite of mine, even the clones.
If properly cared for it's one of the most reliable guns out there.
Usually pretty accurate also, and no problem with shooting cast bullets.
Buying a gun used, it's always a good idea to buy a new set of standard power factory...
You may want to take a couple minutes and see if you can fix the magazines.
I have found many magazines where the springs were put in backwards, it makes a big difference. You might also find some burrs around the witness holes or burrs on the sides, front, or back of the magazine follower that...
Check the trigger pivot retainer to see if it is installed correctly.
I had one that was installed wrong and it didn't allow the magazine catch to function propperly.
