Yep, it is threaded. Threads are the common 1/2"X28. I took mine off and installed a standard thread protector, as I think this tactical stuff is silly on a .22. But a suppressor would not be silly... Tape the flats and use a vise if you have one to avoid messing things up.

Is the flash hider on factory threaded 10/22 barrels a common size and pitch so that I can remove the flash hider and use a standard thread protector instead ?

So is there a scope that will fit inside the case without modification or sliding fore and back ? I am thinking a fixed 4 power would be enough, IF it would fit inside the stock case.
