Hello! If someone here has a Ruger No. 1V, could you measure the diameter just in front of the receiver, and then about 5" in front of the receiver? I'm looking at the feasibility of a project and need to know if a scope mount will work. Thanks!

I know they're probably fine rifles, but I've looked at them locally, and I just can't warm up to them. They look like a heck of a value for people that like them. (I fully realize I'm an anachronism. My friends point it out all the time!)

I'm actually trying to figure out if a barrel mounted scope mount for a No. 1 Sporter will fit a 77 Sporter. I've gone ahead and ordered the mount to see for myself. If it's not going to work I'll just send it back. I'll report back here if it works or not.
