    considering Ruger American 9mm

I have both full size and compact, and like them very much. I have written about them in some other threads. You will notice a big differnce between the RAP and the P95, better handling, better trigger, a joy to shoot. There are three grip configurations you can use. If your thumb second joint...

American Compact - New Gun, First Shooting

Received my new Ruger American Compact Pistol 9mm, today! I bought a box of Federal 115 gr 9mm round nose ammo to shoot. It was 28 degrees out, but I still drove out to the local range. I usually clean a new gun before shooting it, however, I was short on time, so did not clean it. I loaded...

    Ruger American 45acp test drive

Yes, I know what you mean. I feel some give in the backstrap when I pick up the gun, from say a table, but I do not feel it when shooting. That is why I have not complained about it thus far.

Since this is a Ruger Forum, I feel I can say this about Glocks: Today a friend showed me his Glock which he recently had a 3 1/2 pound trigger installed. Dry fire the Glock with a 3 1/2 pound trigger pull, then dry fire a Ruger American Pistol and you will see what Glock is aspiring to be...

    Ruger American 45acp test drive

My RAP 45 came back from Ruger, today. A quick turn around, again. This time they replaced the trigger assembly, what should have been done the first time. I went to the range with a box of Prefecta .45 Auto 230 gr FMJ. I was disappointed when I could not fire more than 3 or 4 rounds without a...

    Ruger American 45acp test drive

Yes, so we can bet our lifes on the gun even if the trigger safety falls out, as on my RAP 45.

    Is your LCP Chambered?

Yes, mine is chambered, always. After you have shot your pistol enough to feel confident with it, you should then feel comfortable carrying a round in the chamber.

    Ruger American 45acp test drive

I now have 243 rounds through the Ruger American Pistol .45 Auto. Somewhere around 200 rounds, the trigger safety pin came out. The pin is lost, but the trigger safety and trigger safety spring were saved. I have shot 40 or so rounds through it since the trigger safety fell out. The RAP 45...

Trigger job for Ruger American Pistol

On both my Ruger American Pistols, 9mm and .45 Auto, the trigger pulls measure 6 pounds. Nice break(s). I have not had the pulls on my LC9s' measured, but they feel lighter.

Blackhawk does not make a holster for the RAP. However; Blackhawk Serpia Concealment Holster #31 for the Springfield XD Sub-Compact works with both the Ruger American Pistol calibers 9mm and .45 Auto, if you remove the plastic spring insert. Try your RAP in it before buying to see if it is to...

    Ruger American 45acp test drive

In the manual on page 11, Ruger states "There is an internal striker blocker and a passive trigger safety, but there are no additional safety devices in this model." I find part 26 in the diagram called a blocker. As Bearcat said it is not what we are used to seeing.

    Ruger American 45acp test drive

On page 11 of the instruction manual Ruger states there is a striker blocker. I do not find it in the exploded views. In a couple of days as I get time I will disassemble my gun to look for it, and get back here.

THE RUGER AMERICAN PISTOL .45 AUTO There is some good, bad, and ugly. I will start with THE UGLY: The trigger with its mini trigger safety is ugly. Also, with my initial firing the trigger safety pin was walking out. THE BAD: I called Ruger and they said send it in. I did, and received it back...

Ruger american 9mm guide rails ?

Please see my review under the topic "Ruger American 9mm" if you have not already read it. I am not a writer, so it is mostly a collection of my thoughts. I would like to add, as some may have, the RAP is made in the USA, it is made for +P which should give it durability, and Ruger is aggressive...

Ruger american 9mm guide rails ?

RAP 9mm satisfies me very well. So much so I should be adding the RAP .45acp in a couple of weeks. Of course, I must admit I will never part with the 1911A1 .45acp. I am enjoying the RAP 9mm as a defence gun.
