No, it has the D shaped mag release.

It was bought new Nov 2011. Using a cheap spring type trigger gauge it measures at over 8lbs. That's the max limit of the gauge. Thanks for the replies.

I've had many issue's with WWB in both 9 and 380. In my book they are just a step above pure junk.

Same price for federal at WW here, when you can find it in stock, which isn't often.

The Sr9 is 7.55" long x 5.52" high. The smallest case has interior dim of 11.5" x 6" so looks like it would fit to me. If you think it might be a little snug, buy the next size up. Case sizes are listed in the description on shopruger.com

I believe Ruger is using something to ship the guns in that they have found will protect it from rust and corrision incase the guns sits in storage very long term. I'm sure some of the storage locations guns may sit in before being sold are pretty hostile places for metal. Factory cleanliness...
