Finally got to the range with my SR1911 Gov in .45 and it shoots like a dream, quite accurate. Very happy with it. Wouldn't mind one in 9 mm, too. I've read where a few have found the sights to be off a bit and they weren't happy with the SR1911. Anyone out there experienced this?

Perhaps a revolver series that will challenge the Charter Arms Pitbull series that requires no moonclips. 8)

Received the P-97 DC back from Ruger with a list of replaced items and 1 repaired item: Ruger replaced the ejector, extractor, sear, and trigger bar spring and repaired hammer spring seat detent. Now that's all I got on the return slip which is no description as to why the trigger reset was not...

Ruger (Arizona) has shipped my P-97 and no charges have been sent to me, yet. I will receive it Sunday or Monday. Will let all know if a description of the work is included with the pistol (which I would expect).

I plan to do the same thing with my P-97 (When I get it back from Ruger) and my SR1911.

Know what you mean, some have to have it new. On the other hand, you can find very slightly used P-89's and others of the P series in excellent condition for around $300-350, even here in CA. The issue is, of course, can I get the parts or service if something goes amiss.

Update. P-97 still not behaving properly as I thought. So off to Ruger in Prescott in went yesterday. Will let you all know how that fares. Hopefully, it is a simple enough fix, if not I may have to give it up.
