SR1911- Not sure what took me so long

Finally got to the range with my SR1911 Gov in .45 and it shoots like a dream, quite accurate. Very happy with it. Wouldn't mind one in 9 mm, too. I've read where a few have found the sights to be off a bit and they weren't happy with the SR1911. Anyone out there experienced this?

    Ruger Security 9, .380, .40 and .45?

Perhaps a revolver series that will challenge the Charter Arms Pitbull series that requires no moonclips. 8)

Ruger P97 DC trigger reset trouble/ FIXED!

Took the P-97 DC to the range today and it performed just fine with full trigger reset. No hiccups or drag on reset. Wowee ! It's like getting a new pistol for $30, well almost. I'm in it for $330 now, but still happy. Didn't shoot quite as nicely as the SR1911 which I had out today for the...

    Plywood Grips

Are you referring to stained laminate wood grips like those that Pachmayr makes? Any pics of examples?

SR1911- Not sure what took me so long

Just bought a used SR1911 Gov size .45, but haven't taken it to range yet. Had been looking and looking and could not find any under $900. Finally found one with around 200 rounds history and the owner sold it to me for under $800. Here in CA that's a decent find because it is off roster and...

Ruger P97 DC trigger reset trouble/ FIXED!

Received the P-97 DC back from Ruger with a list of replaced items and 1 repaired item: Ruger replaced the ejector, extractor, sear, and trigger bar spring and repaired hammer spring seat detent. Now that's all I got on the return slip which is no description as to why the trigger reset was not...

Ruger P97 DC trigger reset trouble/ FIXED!

Ruger (Arizona) has shipped my P-97 and no charges have been sent to me, yet. I will receive it Sunday or Monday. Will let all know if a description of the work is included with the pistol (which I would expect).

Ruger P97 DC trigger reset trouble/ FIXED!

Well, Ruger has had my P-97 since Friday late afternoon and still not a peep out of them. I'm still hopeful it is an easy fix. Was wondering if anyone out there ever had a soldering iron used to stipple a polymer frame before and found that the heat produced was enough to warp a plastic handle...

Ruger P97 DC trigger reset trouble/ FIXED!

I will most certainly report back once Ruger has diagnosed the issue(s). Clearly, I am hoping for an easy fix, but remember these pistols are discontinued and they (Ruger) will only do so much depending on the problem. Ruger received my P-97 today and most likely will email me Monday with an...

    Dug Out My Old P-series

I plan to do the same thing with my P-97 (When I get it back from Ruger) and my SR1911.

    RUGER P - 91 + P - 94

Know what you mean, some have to have it new. On the other hand, you can find very slightly used P-89's and others of the P series in excellent condition for around $300-350, even here in CA. The issue is, of course, can I get the parts or service if something goes amiss.

Ruger P97 DC trigger reset trouble/ FIXED!

Update. P-97 still not behaving properly as I thought. So off to Ruger in Prescott in went yesterday. Will let you all know how that fares. Hopefully, it is a simple enough fix, if not I may have to give it up.

    What's Your Dream Ruger Revolver?

Redhawk .357, 6-shot unfluted cylinder in 4.5" or 5" barrel. Blued or stainless finish, really I'm not picky

Ruger P97 DC trigger reset trouble/ FIXED!

Good news for anyone reading this. The ejector plate was rubbing a bit of a high place on the trigger bar. Some 600 grit on the trigger bar and some Flitz on my Dremel buffer smoothed it out just enough for the trigger bar to slip past the ejector plate. When the mag is inserted into the...
