If you want a custom shop that produces guns "done right every time", expect to pay at least 2x what you are paying now. Or if you are impatient, you can buy something from Freedom Arms now. I wouldn't classify those imperfections as hideous but I expect Ruger will repair it to your satisfaction.

I wanted to add that I swapped out my front sight for a fiber optic one from Gemini Custom. Much easier to see.

I had both a 4" and 6" GP100. I now have just the 4". The 6" was not as well balanced.

I have a Gemini front sight on my SP101 and Hi-Viz on my GP100's. The Gemini is much more rugged than the Hi-Viz. The SP101 is my carry gun and I don't have any problems with the sight and using a holster.

I ordered a Bobby Mac HC holster for my SP101. Can't give you any feedback as it hasn't arrived yet but I've only read great things about his holsters.

I also put an Gemini fiber optic sight on my SP101, except green. I stayed with the stock grips. I have the Wolff spring kit but haven't installed it yet.

Congratulations on the new acquisition. After being a long-time GP100 owner, I picked up a 2-1/4" SP101 a few weeks ago. I've been very impressed with it. I'm waiting for my Bobby Mac holster so I can keep it with me all the time :)

Thanks. I almost ordered the Simply Rugged Silver Dollar Pancake holster but opted for the Bobby Mac HC. I had a hard time deciding between the 3" and 2.25" but opted for the latter because it seemed a hair more concealable. But I have multiple GP100s so my SP101 may breed as well :)

I finally got to test drive my new 2.25" SP101 today. I was very impressed. I wasn't sure what to expect, especially having been spoiled by my GP100's. I put about 75 rounds through it at 7 yards, a combination of factory ammo and my cowboy loads. I did not shoot any +P or .357. I mostly shot...

I bought the .357 model. I'll try shooting .357 to see how they feel but I expect I'll stick with .38 and +P most of the time. I'm unsure about the grip. I'll give it a little time before I decide if a swap-out is in order. Haven't tried Trausch grips but I read good things about them.
