    SR9C for carry

Uncle mikes slide holster(pancake holster) and slip your belt on the outside of the holster with the butt forward. works great for me with a P95 and my wife doesn't notice I have it on. I carry it with a T shirt on and a button up shirt with the shirt unbutton. No one has ever noticed I am armed...

    Gp-100 compact grip dimensions

I also despise the houge grips on my GP100, they are awful for carrying in a shoulder holster.

    Ruger Aluminum frames

Back in the late eighties I owned a blackhawk in 45 long colt, I'm quite sure it had a steel frame. I shot many very hot loads in it with no problems with the gun handling it. I moved away and sold it, now I have a problem with bears at my summer cabin and have all the reloading equipment for...

    New GP100 grip question

I'm with you and don't care for the grips on the 100. I wish I could find a set of the old style that won't cost a fortune. A dealer in my town has several sets and wants $100 for a set. I think that's crazy.

    American in 35 Remington?

I want an american in 35 Whelen, easy to do as it's the same cartridge as the 3006.

    Is welding stainless possible?

There's a couple reasons why your getting porosity in your weld. 1st don't use any grinding wheels or wire brush used on other metals, make sure the metal is free from grease and oil 2nd make sure your using the right rod for the material your welding. 3rd don't contaminate your tungsten...

    What rifle/caliber for brown bear?

Why not the 35 Whelen? Outstanding round for big bears without the recoil of the big magnums. Midway has over fifteen different factory loads ranging from 180 grains for deer to 310 grains for the big stuff. Just my humble opinion.

    Is welding stainless possible?

I have been a weldor for over thirty years, stainless is welded everyday all around the world. Tig is the preferred way for welding stainless but sometimes tig won't work very well in the wind. Another problem with stainless compared to other alloys is it lends itself to warpage at a much...

Think I can bring it back to life?

That is shameful to let a good revolver like that fall into such poor condition.

    GP100 or Security Six?

I think the GP100 would be a better choice as it has a better lock up if my memory is correct. I had a security six years ago and in my humble opinion it wasn't as nice as my GP100. If the price is right the six wouldn't be the worst revolver to have. Good luck !

    Lyman 358429 bullet mold in a GP100

Yes I have dealers around here that will do a transfer, I just don't have the money at this time. I will have to make due with my GP100 until I save up enough money to buy a 44.

Ruger GP100 or SW 686 357 Magnum: Using Buffalo Bore 158gr

I have experience shooting heavy loads in a GP 100 and I'm quite sure a 686 would never take the same number of rounds that the 100 will take. My dad had a 686 and it went out of time long before the ruger and they were bought at the same time. The Ruger is still going strong and it's as tight...

    44 magnum in a GP100

I talked with a couple of gun stores last weekend and they are telling me that smith 69"s are flying off the shelf and they can't keep them in stock. People like them because they are easier to carry concealed but still have lots of punch with 44 specials for self protection. I bet if the...

    44 magnum in a GP100

Boy would I like to see Ruger come out with a 5 shot 44 mag on a GP100 frame and keep the price the same as the GP100. I sent a letter to ruger last year about this but so far I haven't seen one yet. I guess they don't listen to me, LOL. If others are interested maybe sending letters or...

    Lyman 358429 bullet mold in a GP100

I plan on doing lots of practice with the load I plan on using. I have been shooting guns since I was 5 years old and I am now 50, I'm a pretty good shooter when it comes to guns as I have been around them most of my life. I will practice with the load I choose for protection.
