    Something new to "gadget up".

My taste in firearms leans towards old-school, blued steel and wood… Cowboy guns and classic hunting sporters. “Black guns” don’t really interest me except that I find myself being fascinated by all the add-ons available out there. An AR is way outside of my budget these days, but then I saw the...

Anyone have an engraved Vaquero or other SAR?

Great idea! PM on it's way. I agree with less being more. I've already decided I want plenty of blank areas between the engravings. I had this cap gun as a kid... The guns I've seen that are totally covered in scroll work remind me of that toy.

Anyone have an engraved Vaquero or other SAR?

I'd love to see some pictures. Been talking to a good friend, about having him do something with my stainless, New Vaquero, 5-1/2", 45colt. I tend to like things that are a little different than the norm... This style of this Bat Masterson reproduction really caught my eye.

Ruger SP101 22LR - is the DA trigger pull really a safety...

I used the information in the above link to give mine a super good cleaning. Yes, there was a few flakes and some metal powder in there. I was afraid to start sanding on parts, but even the cleaning made it run smoother. I posted on the revolver forum about Wolff Springs. According to their...

Old but new to me M77

Good point. I emailed customer service today through Rugers website. Got an auto-reply that says they'll get back to me in a few days. If their records show that the part was ordered for this gun by someone, I'm still going to ask them to send me another. Having a gun fire when you didn't...

New SP101 22lr and Wolff Springs?

Forgive me if this has been addressed. I didn't find anything in a search. I really like my new SP101 8-shot, 22lr. A complete take-down and thorough cleaning really helped with the crunchy trigger, and everyone says it will improve with use. I would like to try a lighter hammer spring, but...

Old but new to me M77

Thanks, 308. I guess the "T" would be from the factory after they corrected the problem in production. Mine doesn't have it, but it's been around for a long time. I'm thinking someone may have already replaced the screw. I don't suppose it wouldn't hurt to do it again to be sure. That's the...

Old but new to me M77

Thanks wwb. Yeah, I probably should just write them to be sure.

Old but new to me M77

I just acquired an older M77 in 270win. A serial number search puts it at around 1975-76. (About the time I got my first Ruger. ) There are signs of use, but I've never seen a used gun, this old, that's been this well cared for... I couldn't resist. 8) Looking on line, I found the...

    Hogue single-action grips?

Well, I just ordered the ebony wood, Hogue grips. I can work them down if they're too thick. Thanks for the responses. I'll let ya know...

    Hogue single-action grips?

Sorry for the confusion. I meant their traditional wood grips. Hogue calls them "Cowboy Panels." I like the contrast of the stock, black plastic grips with the stainless, and they feel pretty good in my hand, but I want wood. I think ebony would look great. what I'm wondering is, how different...

    Hogue single-action grips?

I'm having trouble getting the search function to work, so I'll ask here... Who has Hogue grips on their single-action revolvers, and what do you think of them? I have no complaints about the Hogues I have on a couple double-actions, so I was thinking about ordering a pair in smooth ebony, for...
