Ruger 57 for black bear defense?

Or an M1 Garand .458 Winchester Magnum…🤔 McCann Industries, if I recall correctly.

    Ruger revolver for Bear hunting?

Paul, I agree that the load in routine use would make me more comfortable out of my Linebaugh 5-shot conversion in .45 Colt. John

    Ruger revolver for Bear hunting?

Paul B, https://www.calendar-12.com/holidays/labor_day/1959 Sept 5/6/7 SAT/SUN/MON 1959 to help your memory. I was at Dustin Linebaugh's this weekend. He handed me a couple of rounds of John's favorite .45 Colt load for hunting. RCBS .45-270 SAA/Winchester brass/24.0 H-110/edit: Federal 155...

    Wolf attack

"A report on the only authenticated wolf fatality in North America." I disagree. You must have never seen this. http://www.vargfakta.se/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/wolf-attacks-on-humans_tr-mader-1995.pdf The pro-wolf people try to erase this. I knew Troy Mader, State Representative, Campbell...

Ruger P Series pistols. How good are/were they?

    Well, during my next career 1998-2019 I carried a State-issued Beretta 96 .40 S&W, Glock 22 .40 S&W, S&W M&P .40 S&W, Glock 22 .40 S&W, Glock 23 .40 S&W (Governor Security). It provided adequate capability for the assignments. I didn't care for the .40 S&W much after retiring with a Sig P-220...

Ruger P Series pistols. How good are/were they?

I taught Police Firearms Basic Police Academies in OK between 1985 and 1995 in my first career, 1977-1997. Between 1987-1995 I distinctly remember an officer from West Siloam Springs, OK PD showing up on Friday with a Stainless Ruger P-whatever .40 S&W pistol that would not function with...

Is it safe to fire .38 rounds out of a .357, or will it damage the revolver?

Dave, We'll have to agree to disagree. Example: You know, the .218 Bee is the only cartridge I am aware of with the Bee designation. All others are cutesy nicknames. .300 WBY VS .300 Bee? There are are so many cartridge variations that BEE vs WBY is a stupid shortening of a cartridge name...

You need to get your terminology correct or don’t handle firearms. Or post online. Great first post for an apparent clown. Shaking my head…..

    10/22 Folder, but no…

    I just saw a wood stock Ruger 10/22 in a brick and mortar store for sale @$299.00! That’s crazy! I only paid $75.00 for my first one…. . . . . . . . in 1974…🤔

    10/22 Folder, but no…

That style of folder looks like it came off a Ruger AC-556 from the 80s.

    Primer hole in brass

The proper terminology you need to use is flash hole , not primer pocket hole. Just FYI. Here is a factory loaded cartridge without one, or a primer seated in the primer pocket.

New Model Blackhawk Bisley 44 Special handle 44 Magnum?

    A 250 @1200fps will handle a lot of territory.
