I have the same problem with my new charger except mine is not the take down model.
Was your forearm stud just screwed into the wood.
I was contemplateing eithe grinding down the coupler or backing out the forearm stud.
I really dont want to ship it back to Ruger over something so simple.

Brownells make a great water based stain kit that lets you coustom mix a color for staining your wood stock no mater what type of wood it is. Then after the stain is applied you can use something like Lieseed oil or Trueoil to seal the wood.
