I was at my local store today and they had just received a Commander. They had not expected or ordered it. $829, I had to leave it on the shelf because I just ordered an M1A.

That’s really machine work, it’s very disappointing Ruger shipped it. I do not think you could ever polish it out it’s all the way down into all the groves. :cry: Maybe I need to wait until Ruger catches up on their backlog.

Bought mine yesterday. My local gun store must not have known they shouldn’t have had it on the shelf. :wink:

I have a VQ carbon on my Charger for IHMSA 5th scale. Mine like Fiocchi Match 320 and Wolf Match Target (but NOT Match Extra). It also likes Federal 711b that’s been check/sorted. It does not like Eley of any flavor.

I shoot mine in IHMSA, it's never shot under a 39 and shot a 40 1st time out. Gotta love it.

I was doing some research last night and came across some old Greenhill tables on maximum bullet length/weight and a barrels twist rate. Ruger says the 30 cal Blackhawk has a barrel twist rate of 1:20 (though some early Blackhawks may be 1:16), for this twist rate the Greenhill formula...

H110/W296 both work ok in 30 Carbine Blackhawks and you can load up to 130GR bullets, but all that flash is powder burning outside the barrel and not adding any power to the load. I also find that H110 and its twin W296 are inconsistent in my Blackhawk. Rather than H100 or W296 my preference...
