Queston about the third Ruger in the family.

The target is just a black dot over the top of the targets you see at the 25 yard mark. The GoPro cameras' wide angle lens is "really" wide. That is the reason I ask that you turn up the sound. To say I am happy is putting it mildly!! I love the BH and it makes a good companion to the 6 digit...

Queston about the third Ruger in the family.

Sorry it has been so long getting to the range to see what Ruger's repair did for the BH. The weather has been poor. Not as bad as most of the country but it kept us off the range. I had a good "eyes" day for a change. The weather was 39 degrees and winds gusting to 35 mph. Groups off the bench...

Queston about the third Ruger in the family.

Well, I didn't get any advanced notice that it was on the way but 11 days after they received it .. it's back. I have to admit Ruger is right on with their customer service and speed of repair. I'm impressed! Now to the problem(s) they found. According to the receipt they adjusted the headspace...

Queston about the third Ruger in the family.

Thanks Terry. I trust the dealer I got it form and I checked the bore and chambers very well before hitting the range. I know what you are saying about the lead deal. VERY familiar with that. As a gun smith years ago at a local gun shop/indoor range I got to be an expert in lead removal. LOL...

Queston about the third Ruger in the family.

OK, time for an update. It has gotten no better, in fact worse. Tried the same loads that gave me the 7/8" group the last time I reported. Up pops a new problem. I brought along some new reloads. 13.1 gns. of Alliant 2400 with CCI primers and Winchester primers. The loads with CCI primers...

    Better sights for 22/45.

This is what I am looking for. Someone who changed theirs. Thanks.

    Better sights for 22/45.

Hey, hows old Lake Lure? We haven't been up your way in years, we'll have to head up that way some fall and check out the colors. Love that area. My 22/45 has a screwed on front and dove tailed rear. I know that Williams and others have better sights, for my eyes, available. I was hopping that...

    Better sights for 22/45.

I have to "un-cross" my eyes after doing searches here for over an hour. I have a early 22/45 I bought from a friends large firearms collection several months ago. Built in 1998 and just about unfired. I love the pistol with the exception of the sights. The front post is just too wide for me...

Thanks for the loading data. Our stores seem to have plenty of bullets and primers just not much powder. I'll plug along with what I do have until it gets better and report back to you guys.

Wait until you hit 71!! Bright sun is best for me, like the day I shot the shown targets. The old eyes stop down to about f16 and the reader glasses make the front sight sharp as a tack!!

THAT is what I'd love to see. I KNOW I can do it but ... What loads do you shoot? I am looking into some hard cast bullets. I reload just to fill some time being I am retired and it is still fun. I do have a ton of late LC G.I. ammo but I thought I could load up stuff that the gun would like...

~ Stolen this week in East Tennessee ~

I'll check around the Lowcountry of SC also. Back in 1967 while coming home from a tour over seas I had, on my orders a list of guns I was bringing back from Germany. We were to fly from Frankfurt to Charleston but had a unscheduled stop at JFK for a "shot record check" by some guys dressed in...

Queston about the third Ruger in the family.

BOY, you got that right!!! And as you age you have good "eye days" and "bad eye" days. The steady hands problems haven't hit me yet. Knock on wood. On the bad days I pack up early and make fun of my shooin' pardner while he shoots!! :D

Queston about the third Ruger in the family.

Yeah, I know all about the "settling down" thing. At my age you have to take that into consideration. I had shot a good number of shots that morning with two different handguns and a rifle before and after the BH shoot and did great with them. Two friends shot the BH at their targets, which were...
