Now that you understand why the taper crimp is used and that seating and crimping are best completed separately you're good to go.... that is if your sizing die and flairing die are setup correctly.

I use a 2 3/4" barreled Security Six as my field gun.
Two rounds of snake shot followed by four rounds of Hornady 158gr jacketed lead flat nose.
If I did not reload I would buy the heaviest jacketed bullet sold.

I've been loading with 3031 and 4198 for this 1:12 twist Steyr for many years.
If in a store that has good ammo priced right I buy some.
It will shoot just about anything well.

I was told by Penn Bullets to make sure to completely scrub the copper from the bore before shooting lead.

Question: if you put a flat edge on the top of the scope mount rib, what is the angle of the cut-out that goes inward and allows the rings to grab?
45....60 degrees.
