I got this used NM .41 Magnum Blackhawk last month (only my 3rd Ruger SA revolver), and decided to try my hand at spifing it up a bit.
- Fitted a Bisley hammer by trimming down the skirt to fit regular grip frame.
- Replaced the alloy grip frame with new "in the rough" SS grip frame, fitted...
Not trying to hijack the thread... I just replaced the grip frame on my OM Blackhawk with an "in the white" Old Army steel grip frame, and I'm at the same stage.
What grit do you take the final finsh down to for getting bluing results that closely match the factory blued cylinder & barrel...

Be sure to watch what you use for bore cleaning, do not use anything that is formulated to remove copper fouling, which usually contains ammonia.
