Taller front sight Bisley 44 Special

So, last week, I called Ruger which in turned, caused them to send me a new taller front sight for my newish SS Bisley flattop in 44 Special. This arrives....free of charge. Should I be upset or is normal?.....no hole to push the roll pin through. Now what? Alan

    Blackhawk rear sight too high.

Actually, since I lost one of the two rear sight springs, I called Ruger and they are sending me some replacement springs AND a new, taller front sight.....for freeee! Let you know how the new front sight works out once it gets here. Alan

    Alliant 20/28 in 44 Special

I got the data off a guy on the internet. Approach with caution. On the powder burn rate scale, the two are side by side.

    Blackhawk rear sight too high.

This is a picture of what I am talking about. The circumference around the threaded hole in the frame was just so ever slight raised, maybe .008". I took a swiss file and simply took it down. No damage to the frame.

    Blackhawk rear sight too high.

So, I think I read somewhere, recently, if a Ruger Blackhawk rear sight it too high, one only need to remove the rear sight and take a swiss (?) file after the manufacturing protrusions which keep the rear sight from bottoming out completely.....true? Alan

    Extra cylinder

I too am curious if they would fit my SS Bisley in 45 Colt with a 45 acp cylinder. Alan

    Alliant 20/28 in 44 Special

I've got enough of the 255 gr cast LBT's to give it another follow up test but his time 10 rounds to get more reliable chronograph numbers instead of the 5-round groups I shot yesterday. I'm throwing my charges via the Harrell's Schuetzen/Pistol meter....maybe it helps get more consistent...

    Alliant 20/28 in 44 Special

Wow! Took out a brand new NMBH SS Bisley Flattop, 4-5/8", I got from Lipseys last month. Last Spring, I cast up some 255 gr LBT WFN-PB and loaded, 7.5, 8 and 8.5 gr AL20/28, sparked with CCI 300 in new unfired Starline cases and added a Redding Profile crimp. I've read that AL20/28 is spot on...
