    Lipsey's BH .45 Convertible?

I wouldn’t mind getting one of those to pair with my Buckeye 10mm / .38-40. But not for the prices I usually see then listed at.

    Reuniting Buckeye brothers

What “current data” are you using? Any book load I’ve tried gives me .40 S&W velocities. You have to go a fair bit over what is published to get into “awesome” territory. The 10mm cylinder makes much higher velocity easily, while staying within published guidelines. Yes, a Ruger can easily...

    32 H&R Magnum

Alternately, there was an 8-shot Blackhawk chambered in .327 Fed. Obviously one could run .32 H&R through that one as well.

    Single 7 .327 BirdsHead

Weren't the Single Sevens a distributor exclusive offering anyway? It seems any of these are typically a "limited edition" type of offering anyway, sometimes never to be made again. They're often reasonably priced when first released, but prices jump once production ends. Look at the Buckeye...

    Another “want” from Ruger

I’ve got Blackhawks in both .30 Carbine and .327 Fed. Both have a bit of muzzle blast, but it really doesn’t seem like any more than what you get with a .357 Mag. To that point, I wouldn’t really want to shoot any of them without some decent ear protection. My .30 Carbine seems to shoot a...

    Question About 327 Blackhawk

It's difficult to to tell much from the serial number. I can't find a listing for Blackhawk .327 serial numbers on their website. Mine has s/n 38-058XX. Maybe if we get a few others posted, we could get some idea of numbers produced. Then again, my 10mm/.40 BH is also a 38-XXXXX series. So if...

    Picked up a Buckeye 10mm/38-40

Agreed. I watched them for years on Gunbroker listed (and never selling) at $1200 and up. I found one for a year ago for around $800 and jumped on it. I saw one locally for around $850 and was really tempted to grab that one as well. But I passed. I have the newer .40/10mm BH as well, and...

    .30 Carbine question.

Yes, it does. Not sure, but this seems to be common as well. My .30 C cylinder has a “C” or maybe an “O” etched in that location. Looking at some of my other cylinders, I find other letters or marks opposite the serial number etchings. Both cylinders from the .45 convertible are marked with a...

    .30 Carbine question.

You can find Ruger year of manufacture for New Model Blackhawks at https://www.ruger.com/service/productHistory/RE-NMBhawk30.html. The earliest they list is 51-02629 in 1974. Yours is a bit earlier than that. I have a similar revolver. It has a later serial number than yours, but still lower...

    ruger vaquero

Yep. My .38-40 Blackhawk had extremely tight cylinder throats. This led to lots of barrel leading and so-so accuracy. After having the chamber throats reamed it does much better.

    Berry's bullets sale

It wasn’t much of a “sale”. More like regular price + 15%. Which in today’s market may seem like a sale. It was only for 9mm/115 and .45/230 RN plated bullets. And no promise of when they would be delivered. But they were pretty up-front about it. I would expect everyone to get their bullets...

    10mm SS Blackhawk

Currently no. As noted, both the 4-5/8" and 6-1/2" barrel lengths were made as a limited run for a distributor (Lipseys). When they were still in stock they could be found for just under $600. They can still be found fairly easily, but prices have creeped up. The Buckeye 10mm/.38-40...

    10 mm Blackhawk

I really like mine. Buckeye Sports had Ruger make a run of Convertible Blackhawks in '90 or '91. I've always been a fan of the 10mm, and had wanted one of the Buckeye 10mm/.38-40 revolvers. But it seems they are always listed at $1200-$1300. Not that I've ever seen one sell for that price...

    Ruger serial no look up

Yeah - I have a New Model Blackhawk with a serial number lower than what they list for first year of production for that model. So was it an early '74 model? Or did they start the transition over from OM to NM some time in '73? :?:

Stay at home Ruger build 38-40 modern Antique

I can't comment on the OP's revolver, but I have a Buckeye Blackhawk and one of the more recent 10mm/.40 revolvers as well. All of the cylinders are cut so the case protrudes out about the thickness of the rim. Or in other words, none are counterbored for the rim. Having another revolver that...
