Couldnt find any recent .357 birds head solds at auction but guessing there is a small premium for .357 Mag Vaquero Birds over .357 Vaquero plow handles ?
Reviving this Lazarus post after cleaning out the safe and discovering the SS Vaquero with box and docs sn# is 58-65XXX hiding in the back.
Any idea what they are worth nowadays ?
Didnt get pics of the gun but the serial was 3 digits in the 600's (I thought 400's in the OP),
Its a Solid 98% gun no box or docs. 6.5" barrel, original wood grips, dimpled ejector rod,
Cant find any comps but dont think its worth over $1000 so thinking $900 would be a good price for both of...
Did a search of completed auctions on GB and found 2 similar ,
the part that is confusing me is one is a 4 digit gun that has ended twice with no bids at $750
the other is a 5 digit 1960 gun that had 19 bids and closed just over $1000.
I would have thought the lower the serial the better ...
Wondering what fair market value is for a 3 digit serial .44 Magnum with original smooth wood grips with medallions
Gun is 95% to 98% condition no box or docs
Serial is around 400, and its a type 2 with dimpled ejector rod button
Having trouble finding any .357 Vaquero Bird comps for sale,
Found one completed auction on GB , SS/black grip, .357 bird, 200 rds fired, rust specs on cylinder and muzzle wear sold for $625 buy now and blue black bird with a $1000 reserve .
None on GA,
Anybody seen any .357 Birds FS lately...
Thank you for all for the info and offer,
While I do actually prefer black grips to white going to leave them as they shipped .
I have a friend that is keen for them but he is broke and wants to do some horse trading,
Have another friend that wants to put them up for auction but not so...
Hello,
I was organizing my safe and unearthed a pair of Ruger Vaquero .357's I bought around 10 years ago but never shot.
They are both LNIB, 4 5/8" Birdshead Vaqueros, both in .357 Magnum with white Micarta Ruger grips with medallions.
One is SS , the other has a blue barrel and cylinder with...
I recently learned about these and am looking forward to trying one out.
Always wondered why Ruger never made a .357 version of the .44 Carbine .
Would have been a great camp carbine companion rifle as well as Law enforcement piece for those that carried a .357 revolver.
I really have plenty of 308's but love the look of the rifle,
Torn between that and a No1 in 45/70....have to decide between the two.
The No1 is $550 without scope or rings ,
maybe I will offer $600 for the M77 and if no deal go for the No1.
Actually didnt take much notice of the scope as it appeared to be a fixed 4X and the GF was hurrying me to go ,
What would the rifle be worth if it had no scope?
Was at the local GS yesterday and saw a beautiful .308 caliber Ruger M77 with red rubber butt plate , tang safety, iron sites, scope and a mannlicher stock that went to the muzzle.
Wondering whats a decent price for one in 96% condition.
Blueing looked perfect 2 or 3 minor dings in the stock...
I am trying to find out the approximate value of a tang safety M77 in 7mm Rem Mag, wood stock is about 80% with some cosmetic issues but no cracks or chips.
Blueing is 98% and clean ,
mechanicly seems fine.
