I'd go with the six shot as well. If the additional round(s) makes a difference I'd go with a Glock 29. I have 3 357 revolvers and a Glock 29. I would feel comfortable with any of the them in the field myself. Staying with a tried and true design with history takes precedence for me.
They are a hoot to shoot! I have 5 ROA's and Taylor's and Kirst cylinders for each and 45acp along with 45 colt with the Kirst's. The same with 4 Uberti 1858's 45 colt and acp. It's game changer. Planning on thinning the herd overall but at least a couple of ROA's and a Uberti 1858 will remain.
If it's doable, I kick myself for not acquiring one a few years ago in '19 prior to the pandemic for what was then about a third to half of what they are going for now. Biggest issue imo though is ammo price/availability. I almost bought a Ruger LCR 327 about a month ago but the ammo dynamics...
Been wanting a Mark IV for awhile and came across this awhile back and secured it today. A Turnbull Mark IV target. Just ordered the Volquartsen trigger kit and debating on whether to add wood hand grips. Also going to put a red dot on it, my aging eyes will thank me.
It's not easy for sure, all of the ones I have acquired were from years past and from friends in northern New England rummaging through relatively obscure LGS's fairly regularly and then I endedup paying them a mark up on the acquisitions. Still reasonable prices considering. That process has...
I have a Brassie that I got ser# 140-11759 with a letter from Ruger stating it was shipped that way. My box is just like the yellow and black boxes on this thread with a red label as well. It does not fall between the numbers stated above. Does that have any meaning? It is about 90 to 95%...
I am going to have to join CAA (cylindrical abuse anonymous) and follow the 12 step program on how not to abuse my revolver or the 12 steps it is now going to take me to load and fire my revolver. Hi my name is ____ and I am a cylindrical abuser. I have been told it is a disease and I will...
How does this theoretically apply to the Ruger Old Army? I might like to spin the cylinder after thoroughly cleaning and lubricating them just to get a feel of how well the job is done. Does this theoretically mean I am abusing my gun? This is a hypothetical question of course? I don't want to...
Where are all these so called clean up guns coming from? It appears that Ruger has started manufacturing these guns again. It is hard to believe that all of these are from left over parts. There are dealers on several sights selling them as well. It is fine with me, since they never should have...
