I have a Model 29 that tends to lead up just forward of the forcing cone. I shoot a good deal of 240 gr LSWC through it so I get some leading after 50 rounds or more.
I have used Remington 40-X Bore Cleaner successfully. It takes several applications and some patience, but it will dissolve...
Yep. Expansion of the product line and other manufacturers adapting the technology are strong indicators of a commercially successful product.
I have one of the first ones made, and plan to take a close look at the .357 model. I think it is a great CCW platform.
I agree. There has been a bit of clamoring about a .327 LCR, but until Walmart starts stocking cases of that ammo, I don't look for it to happen.
I would like to see a .22LR LCR. It doesn't make a lot of sense, but I love the platform.
I have a MK II that could always shoot better groups than my Single Six, and it had a shorter barrel.
I too thought I had a bad Single Six. I could never get it to shoot a nice group, and I tried all kinds of ammo in it. I found that I took it out less and less, and finally sold it.
I would go with the Critical Defense 110 gr in non-+P for anyone that is recoil adverse. Very comfortable in the LCR and very accurate.
You may give up some "stopping power," but the gain is in confidence and precision with the weapon.
Great starter. I gave mine to my son years ago. I replaced with an SR9.
I love the SR9 but, I still like shooting my old P95 when we go out shooting together. I am sometimes tempted to swap him, to get it back.
The LCR is a fine CCW revolver. Mine has exceeded my expectations.
The LCR is safe to carry fully loaded. It has a transfer bar that makes it impossible for the weapon to discharge unless the trigger is pulled fully back. Ruger has used this system for decades and many have copied it.
Any...
I have a Taurus Model 17 w/5" barrel. With open sights I can print 1" groups at 25 yards using a good rest. It is the most accurate revolver I own. Hmmm....maybe I should look at a red dot sight.
Very nice. I have never done that well, but I have printed some nice 2" groups at the same distance with my LCR. I like Hornady 110gr CD. I give credit to the trigger, the grip angle, and the grips.
I am with you on that. Every week I do a search online to see if anyone is marketing wood combat grips for the LCR. The factory Hogues work fine, but they are not wood. I think a nice Congalo Alves boot grip would not only improve the looks of the LCR, but make it an even better pocket CCW.
