    When my hands and wrists could take it I only shot mid range 357 from my LCR. Now I have backed off to 38+P.

    SP101 vs LCR Trigger Pull

    My LCR357 is very smooth and is possibly the best double action trigger from the factory. I have Taurus's and Smiths with excelant triggers but, it took a lot of shooting and dri firing to smooth them.

    It's better to let her get what SHE WANTS. After she gets used to carrying and shooting introduce her to other guns.

    lcr 357

    I like mine. I carry it every day as back up to my SP101. Some full house 357 Ammo is a bit harsh but, there is plenty of mid range 357 that is ok. 38+P is great and standard 38 is boring.

    woods carry, who carries what?

    The only woods I have been in in the past few years are in PA and Ohio. 357 mag will handle anything I need to worry about. The PA Bears seam to be afraid of people but, I sometimes keep a Riot Gun with 8 Slugs in the Camper.

    SP101 modifications

    I installed the XS Standard Sight, Hogue Grip, thinned downed the trigger and also narrowed it, and polished the exteriorof the Gun. I also dry fired the living snot out of it until the trigger became smooth.

    I have carried my SP101 in some pockets but, I normally carry it IWB and carry my LCR357 in my pocket as back up.

    Sounds like you have made a good decision to me. I also carry Two Snubs at all times. Sometimes the SP101 and a LCR357. Sometimes the LCR357 and a S&W 442. I also carry reloads. At least Ten, or Twenty extra rounds. After reading an article about how an old boy came to the aide of a Police...

    Anyone Using a Ruger SP101 for Home Defense?

    I carry my SP101 every day and back it up with a LCR357. The LCR357 does Night Stand Duty in the P.M. As for Home Defense, The SP101 and LCR357 are on my person all day every day. I keep a 12G. Pump in the closet ready to go and their are few other Handguns stashed around the house.

    I carry my LCR357 every day. Most of my shooting has been done with 125G. JHP 357 ammo.
