That’s maybe a first. How on earth do you lose a bolt from a bolt gun when moving? Curious minds want to know.

    Ruger backpacker

I have the 9mm Ruger PC Carbine with the Magpul Backpacker stock. I absolutely love it! It’s a great camp or backpacking rifle.

    Regular vs. Magnum Primers

I use both interchangeably and in 40 years of reloading I have never seen any signs of over pressure or any change in velocity. I’ve never had a cratered primer, a pierced primer or a blown primer. Zero issues! Of course, this is what I do and I advise that you follow published load date from...

Inferior firearms vs function and reliability

I’m a long time solid Ruger fan. That being said, I purchased a Rock Island FS Tactical 2-years ago and it has functioned flawlessly with 1,500+ rounds of various factory ammunition and my reloads. I’ve had ZERO failures to feed, fire, extract and eject….NONE!! And it’s accurate too! I still...

    Trigger for 10/22

The Ruger BX trigger is an excellent upgrade over the factory unit. We use them on our Steel Challenge and Rimfire Challenge 10-22’s with outstanding results.

    Walnut stock 10/22s

My 70’s era 10-22 has a birch stock. Not sure is standard 10-22’s ever came with walnut.

U.S.S. Indianapolis.....! I just finished reading(again) IN HARM'S WAY by Doug Stanton. I'll never forget the sacrifices of all who served in WW2!

Another excellent book on the Indianapolis is “Abandon Ship!” by Richard Newcomb, the saga of the Navy’s greatest sea disaster.

    No# 41 Military primers

My long time favorite .223 powder for AR’s is W748. It’s a ball powder so it meters easily and accurately. I’ve found that 25 grains under a 55 gr fmj is a sweet and reliable load FOR ME AND ONLY ME.

Mark 4 not feeding all the time.

Magazines rarely have any effect extraction. Call Ruger and ask them to send you a new extractor and spring. Check the easy and obvious things first.

    Deer activity or lack thereof

Not that it directly relates to your area but the mule deer and elk were a few weeks late in moving down from the mountains here in Idaho this year.

New Availability Of Pistol and rifle Primers

I just purchased two bricks of Federal Match Large Pistol Primers from Sportsmans Warehouse today for $49.95 each. Last week I bought two bricks of CCI small pistol primers for $39.95 each. Not as cheap as a year ago but more than fair pricing as far as I’m concerned. I also bought two pounds of...

Best 1911 value for under $500?

Another big “YES” for Rock Island 1911’s. I have a full size tactical in 45 acp and it is an amazing pistol. Factory extended beaver tail, skeletonized hammer and trigger, adjustable trigger, Novak style sights, flat mainspring housing with nice checkering and full length guide rod. It eats...

    Ruger AR 556 ?

For all intents and purposes, they are completely mill spec. I can verify that just about every part except for the front sight and the Delta ring are mil spec and interchangeable.

I wish I had a clue of how to help you but I simply don't. I have a KP97DC that I bought new 15 years ago and it is one of the most reliable and accurate pistols I own. I sure hope you get it figured out!
