Just to add information from my experience, on my Rugers, Colt, Ria.... and "Yes Rev", I did it, Range Officer, (You were right, nice gun. I got it in Stainless), I can close the slide on an empty Clip (I'm fishing now) by just depressing the slide stop. Some are easier than others, I don't drop...

I prefer to take a 148 grain hollow base wad cutter(38 cal) Hit it with a 3 lb hammer that free falls from a height of 27 inches. Then lube size it in my 45 cal lube sizer and load it with the hollow base up. Totaly devistating on barn mice. Hope I covered all the required bases. :mrgreen:

What is an entry level gun? Is my Rem 700 an entry level compared to a Weatherby? By your standards, yes. Just because something cost more doesn't mean it does a better job. Are you saying that famous actors are better than regular people. Get off your entry level horse, I'm getting kind of...

A Camry or VW will get you from point A to point B, it's air conditioning will keep you just as cool and it's heater will keep you just as warm. The wipers will let you see just as good, the brakes will stop you just as fast and there're cheaper to fix. The BMW or Mercedes is better workmanship...

Does anyone make a 1911 that is of poor quality? Doesn't work, right out of the box? Not reliable. I'm not talking exceptions here, Is there a 1911 that just doesn't work because of poor manufacturing. I'm not talking sights, magazines or accuracy, needs to be combat accurate (6" or less @ 25...

I have an RIA Tactical, RIA Commander, Charles Daly Compact,(made by armscore) 2 Ruger SA1911's and a Colt Series 70. All 6 are reliable, all 6 are accurate. I'm happy them. I don't believe you can go wrong choosing an Armscore gun. My Colt and Rugers have a better finish, but the RIA's arn't bad.

I've been lurking in the shadows for this whole thread. :oops: I have 2 SR 1911's, 1 Colt series 70, 1 RIA Tactical and a Charles Daly Compact. I agree with Rev...... My Colt is the most accurate, 2" at 25. My SR1911's are roughly 2.5" at 25. My rock Island Tactical is roughly 2.5" at 25...
